Dunno. Has this happened to anyone? My order of about a week and a half ago hasn't arrived and my credit card hasn't been charged and they don't seem to be answering emails.

I think you are getting overly worried here. Maybe the stuff you ordered is not available and they are checking if they can backorder it for you? In that case it's only logical they haven't charged you credit card yet.

What is strange is you did not get any E-mail answers, my experience with erodvd.nl/erovideo.nl is I get answers to all of my queries very fast, sometimes within minutes, at the most (very rarely) the next day.

Which E-mail address did you try? Was it erovideo@erovideo.nl ?

I never actually thought of this; I used the info@erodvd.nl address for my order and then just replied to the message I received from a different address (though one I recognize as belonging to erodvd.nl, for all security freaks) in all subsequent correspondance. It's never occurred to me just to try their main address. Dumbass me. Thanks for the advice.

I have to concur with Joey all my email queries have had very fast responses also.

I only had an order arrive today from erodvd.nl that was sent on Sunday, took only 3 business days to arrive.

Just intested to know if your story had a happy ending, or not....

I did hear back eventually after emailing them at their regular address. Turns out the DVD I ordered was out of stock; what's odd is that it took them 2 weeks to tell me that and at my instigation, not by their own initiative. Oh, well.

Thanks for the all help everyone.

I had been holding off this topic to give Erodvd a full chance to get my order through, and what do you know? They delivered today!

I had much the same difficulty described by dharmabottom - they couldn't process my card, but neglected to contact me about it. So I was in the dark for some time and it took a few exchanges of emails to get things going. Overall it took a little too much effort on my part to make sure I got my order. Otherwise, how long would I have had to wait? All in all it took about three weeks! To be fair, they did apologise about the delay and I got the discs in the end so I can't complain too much.

HOWEVER, Then when I got them, they were all there except one disc was the wrong one!! ARGH! I am not too fussed about it, but I have emailed them again, so we shall leave the outcome of that for later.

The order consisted of Private DVDs, and were delivered in much the manner described by Joey - plain white jiffy bag, printed label, no boxes (just discs, wrapped in cling film (!) and artwork inserts). It is a very discreet package, in my view - when I picked it up I couldn't believe all the discs were in there.

So my views are:
PRO - very good prices, free shipping, very good packaging, discreet service, fast delivery once the discs were actually sent, respond quickly to emails (as is often mentioned, Aline, who does this, is very helpful).

CON - lack of pro-active communication, wrong disc, use of JAVA on website, ambiguous inventory labelling in website shopping bag almost certainly leads to mistakes, no order tracking or email to confirm shipment.

I would use them again, given the positive comments from Charlie and many others, but I would be careful to keep close contact with them.

I wonder: are they maybe swamped with orders, so it's hard for them to deal with them individually with regarding to mailing updates, shipping confirmations, etc?

Also, I'm curious about your statement that they had trouble processing your credit card. I ran in to a problem where Visa has apparently told adult video companies that it will no longer process their business transactions. This left me in a bit of a spot since all my cards are Visas.

I don't know about that, but it does seem feasible. I don't know how big an operation they are.
Really? Where did you hear that, apart from the fact that they would have no right to do so, and how do they know if any specified vendor is an adult dealer anyway (e.g. Orgazmik use a separate, non-adult billing company)?
Did your card company tell you this themselves? I use a VISA card myself and use it without problems all the time, in fact EroDVD are the only company that have had a problem like this.

Have to admit that I don't really know what the situation was. 1st, I tried to pay for my order online, but then was told that I first needed to download Visa's new SET (?) thingy in order for the transaction to process. Once I got this sorted out, I went back to the site a few days later only to find a message posted as an update that Visa (and one other cc company I can't remember just now) had instructed them (the web site/company) not to process any more Visa (and that other cc company) orders. At any rate, I wasn't sure if this was maybe an ongoing thing that Erodvd.nl had also run into.

I do agree that if I haven't been misinformed about this, it seems like an odd thing to do, particularly from a business-making-$ standpoint.

I'm surprised to read some of the comments in this thead, my experience with Erodvd has been nothing but very positive! Maybe I'm just a lucky bastard

I thought I would give some comments and some tips :

1- Their automated/secure order system just SUCKS, I could never make it work properly. I asked them for a fax number (which they promptly gave me by return of E-Mail) and faxed my order through. After that first order, many orders followed and I just E-mail them and give a customer number, seems to work very well.

2- Due to previous (bad) mail order experiences with other online stores, I systematically ask them to tell me that they have what I want in stock before I confirm the order, something like " I'd like that Private DVD but ONLY if you still have that special available". I get a very fast response and incredibly had never any problem with something I wanted not being in stock (and I ordered everything from the latest bestseller Private DVD to an obscure specialist DVD).

3- Communication is always great, Aline is very helpful and answer queries fast even on Sundays! Sometimes they can't help but it's beyond their control (asked for a Magma title they had not listed in their sites and they were not able to get it for me).

4- Inventory and prices are GREAT! They even get Marc Dorcel DVDs at bargain basement prices from time to time. They have started stocking more US titles like the Hustler DVD line. Anyway in Europe DVDs are often easily twice the erodvd price and after that they charge you (expensive) shipping! Bottom line erodvd are cheaper have a larger inventory than most and have free shipping.

To sums things up, check with them by E-mail before your order for the status of the things you want (in stock or not?). Don't bother with their automated ordering even if it SEEMS to work for you.

Joey, some sound advice there I think. You lucky bastard!

I actually twigged why they sent me the wrong disc - two titles with the same catalogue number. I let them know and Aline got back to me straight off. Apparently they are upgrading the English-language part of the site, so watch out for that.

As I said, their response to emails is/was very good. They just needed a little prompting at times!

Dharmabottom - I do apologise, maybe I am being terribly dim, but I still do not understand what the problem was!!! Are you having any problems ordering from other internet vendors (non-adult)?

Gabriel Nine: No, it's not an ongoing problem. It was just that one site that said they'd been instructed by Visa not to process orders anymore because they sold adult material. Like you I wondered why and even how a cc company could do this and when you mentioned that you'd had trouble w/ your cc, I wondered if it was maybe becoming an issue. But, like the original topic of this thread, just a false alarm.

Maybe its got something to do with Erodvd not using a secure website ?.
Hopefully if Ero are fixing the English language part of the site, their'll also add a secure server.

Just to clarify: I'm wasn't trying to say bad things about Erodvd.nl by starting this topic--my experience with them has been nothing but positive--I was posting it in the fear that I had done something to anger them and was wanting to get back into their good graces. Not to repeat myself, but the problem I was having was due entirely to my not using the proper email address.
