It's less than 24 hours from the Tampa show (last night) and already there’s a buzz around town as to what a disaster this year’s event turned-out to be.
According to a number of attendees, and a few of the local “celebs” on the guest list, the overall event wasn’t worth their time and most definitely wasn’t worth the price of admission ($50.00 – Not including a seat!). Some of the fans I’ve spoken to said that, like last year, the majority of the Stars kept to themselves in a private section of the venue (a ‘cheesy’ disco-dance club), and most made no attempt to “interact” with the fans .. Some who paid close to $400 to attend!!
For me it was easy to predict that this year’s show was bound for disaster simply based on the lack of promotion (locally) and the limited number of scheduled events leading-up to the Awards Show [for lack of a better term], none of which were held anywhere near the show’s location.
I understand that you [Dirty Bob] invest a lot of your time to help organize and promote this event each year; however, it seems to me, Paul Allen and the folks at Nightmoves always find a way to screw things up!
It’s a shame really. There are plenty of great porn fans, and a number of current of former porn stars, here on the west coast of Florida and around the state .. But unless a local organizer, with some integrity , takes-over this event in the coming years it is certainly bound to simply fade-away.
Just thought you’d be interested in hearing the buzz ‘round town D.B.! We all know, especially me, that it’s failure has absolutely nothing to do with you. We all still LOVE YA bunches for your efforts around the industry!
