As for porn being taboo in India AFAIK they do seem to openly produce softcore porn but the hardcore india-made stuff that you can somewhat easily find online still seems illegal/bootleg. I'm aware of a recent case of a TV actress' husband going to jail for owning a studio that produced "pornography" in India, I'm assuming it was the bootleg hardcore variety rather than simple nude softcore flicks. Indian hardcore porn suffers from the same issue chinese porn does: it's hard to find an official legit/looking producer's website that seems safe enough to transact with.
