Now that I think about it, do pornstars get residuals from DVDs and Internet content if they aren't directly involved in the content such as the producer etc, or is it a case by case deal?

^It's a case by case deal. But I believe that when girls get royalties for a movie, it's either for contract girls for features that they starred in, or else it's for when a girl does an interactive title or a movie that is otherwise all about her. Not just a movie where she's on the front box cover but still only has one or two scenes, but a movie where she is in every scene and her screen name is part of the movie title. For the average Gonzo Movie #69, girls take a one time payment for doing their scene. And I hear that the girls want it that way. A.) Because they have no idea ahead of time whether Gonzo Movie #69 will be the big hit that Gonzo Movie #68 was, or if it will actually lose money, and B.) it would be an accounting nightmare for both the girls and the companies otherwise. Girls would have no idea if they were being paid all the money they were owed. Even with one time payments, some of the shadier outfits can be slow to pay, or even write rubber checks.
