I've seen Devon listed with escort agencies--as well as almost every girl who ever did a single scene in porn. As you say: many of these ads are "come ons"--and it's one legit reason some porn girls try to copyright their name. Still, Devon has said (a long time ago) on her MySpace page that she HAS done escort work--and that all the other porn girls do, too. This post was during the time she was pissing all over the adult biz, saying her name was "stolen," that she never enjoying working with ANYONE in her scenes (though she often worked with her then-boyfriend, Barrett Blade) and other things--so her remark about other performers can be questioned. Also, I've seen one "review" of Devon from a customer who said she escorted him. (Note: he wasn't satisfied, so it could have been some guy who she shot down at a club, who's dissing her.) Bottom line: Since Sunset Thomas broke the "barrier" between porn and prostitutes by working in a Nevada brothel about ten years ago, industry girls are more willing to pick up rent money by escorting. IMO, not wanting to have to escort for rent money is one of the reasons girls sign contracts with video companies--it gives them a steady check every month. And Devon doesn't seem to have a contract right now...so you can draw your own conclusions. [Link] |

IMO, Devon had good reasons for many of her decisions, but, as is true of a very large number of performers' she has many personal issues that she hasn't dealt with as well as she could have. Also, some of the contracts she walked away from were not good for her or her career. Bottom line: Porn is a very, very tough business, and Performers have to be willing to play hardball with directors on sets and companies--and not be afraid to walk. [Link] |
