It's convenient to be able to print online labels and have shipments automatically charged to my credit card. While all the carriers offer this kind of service, only DHL allows you to drop ground packages into their dropboxes, an option I find especially convenient. FedEx and UPS allow only the more-expensive air shipments to be placed in the dropboxes; ground packages must either be taken to a shipping center (sometimes at a cost) or picked up for a charge. (USPS allows Priority Mail packages to be dropped in a mailbox, but they must be under a pound, and more importantly USPS loves to delay, lose and damage my stuff. To be fair, it *is* nice that they offer me free packaging in which to place these destined-for-delay items.) Anyway, the reason I seek DHL feedback is that they are the only one of the shippers that specifically cites pornography in their list of items forbidden for intra-U.S. shipment. I personally know of only one porn merchant that uses DHL, even though it seemed that some others used to offer Airborne until it was merged into DHL last year. I am curious as to whether the porn merchants are avoiding DHL due to the official no-porn stance, or for other reasons. Anyway, I've sent a few porn DVDs via DHL recently, and everything has gone very smoothly. Like FedEx Ground, they seem to be faster than UPS Ground on a lot of routes, and are so much more dependable than USPS. But I wonder if I may be courting future problems by using a shipper that states it doesn't accept porn. Any thoughts or experiences re using DHL for shipping porn? Thanks in advance. | Please Mr Postman! Member Chicago NW Suburb 10 Posts 3/05 | I understand DV-Depot is a Canadian company. I've never used them so I don't know if they ship to the U.S. I wonder if DHL's no-adult-products request was in any way related to orders being sent to the U.S. or another foreign country? Or was it domestically-driven? Please Mr Postman! |
