My Start
It seems like a lot of people are confused by this unique fetish. The common question I get from friends and fans is why I pop balloons. Bottom line, produce content for this fetish has to be the most fun a girl can have. Similar to foot fetish, once I started down the path of balloons, I became infatuated with it. From the planning, the purchase, and to the scene itself, it’s a creative way to get off and to have a rush of excitement.
I was inspired to put together more information for this blog entry from a really sweet fan (John) asking about balloon popping and wanting to understand the fetish. In an earlier post I sort of scratched the surface. Well, this time around, I'm going to elaborate. I believe I started blowing up balloons for my clips4sale store from the beginning as a fan request. This fan (and I wish I could find his email) found clips of my first balloon experiences I shot in Tampa. From solo balloon blowups, blow to pop and I other combinations, I discovered this fun time with Charlee and she and her husband have been very successful in their endeavors on clips4sale.
So in over a year, www.merrypoppings.com has turned into a weekly production effort. I began to toy with clear balloons and smoking, Hitachi and two girl blowups and recently massive balloon popping. The combinations are endless and perhaps that’s why I enjoy it so much. It is random fun!

For me, it does. When I orgasm, holding my breath and waiting for that release to surface, err, pop, that’s how I can relate to balloon popping. That excitement and anticipation is the trigger for a lot of Looners. For others it might be the foreplay or humanization of the balloon, such as facesitting, grinding or squeezing the balloons in between your legs. It feels weird and great all at the same time.

For the year I have been shooting my own balloon content, it seems that bigger is better and material is secondary. A punch ball balloon has denser material and the pop is more like a gun shot. It’s shocking and several times I have felt like I got a black eye from the smack. I have seen a lot of clips stores specify color, type and size. It’s all important, but consistently the size is what matters.

I totally agree it’s the most accessible. It’s an identifiable fetish that is so extreme and fun appealing, just ask anyone to blow up a balloon for you sometime. They will smile, flirt, and giggle at the possibility. I know that’s the reason I got into it when I was starting to bloom. The association of safe fun is what balloons impress upon non kinky ladies.

For starters, the funniest part is having the giggles. My first shoot for MerryPoppings, Bella and I could not stop laughing for no apparent reason. We started shoving animal balloons in our mouths at each end to see how many we could pop with our mouth. The entire pop scene is our endless teary laughter for popping. Somehow it was funny for us!
Also, my latest MerryPoppings with Paris Kennedy was a riot. We were exhausted and she was scare to pop balloons. I prepped balloons in the color of the German Flag and honestly it completely derailed into dorky humor and fits of the giggles.
Other occurrences have been nailing myself in the eye, popping balloons in the tub creating nasty wet messes and filling balloons up with aged whipping cream.

I haven’t shot any balloons with helium, but I’m imagining the pop sound will be duller. Also, I love the idea of getting a helium tank from Costco as you know this Vegas heat would like kill a bunch of pre-filled balloons before making it to set.

So all in all, life as a Loon is full of endless possibilities. Below I have pasted the wiki entry of Looning for further reading. As most fetishes derive, this special fetish stems from childhood for most.
Psychologically speaking
The fear as you see explained in the first youtube link, is the source of childhood experiences and parties. In a happy setting such as birthdays, there is an overall support to help someone overcome that fear, the pop. At sometime it sexualizes. Perhaps in teens or later years, those memories come together. Sexually the balloons become an early source for masturbation. I do a lot of videos where I sit and grind on balloons. I would be lying if I said that doesn’t turn me on. Also I have read the balloons can be symbolic for cleavage. To me it makes sense. Lastly, the humanization of an inanimate object: anthropomorphism. The balloon becomes the partner. I’m not sure if blow up dolls fall into this category.
The Scene
There are two main types of scenes: popping and non popping. Like the cycle of sex, there is a cycle to balloons. Inflating, touching, interacting, destroying… each part of the cycle can be it’s own scene. Typically the Looner wants to watch their partner perform this act and as you will see if I have sparked your interest yet there are a lot of male performers too. The majority are female.

So I have sort of made this my little research paper as I unwind from many projects I have done the past 6 weeks. It’s been a way to sit back and evaluate something I enjoy shooting. BALLOONS!
