Do you know if there is a difference between the movies released in the US and the same oneds released in Europe? And if yes, is there a way to get European versions?
I was in amsterdam a few weeks ago and purchased a dvd called:
"une americaine a Paris avec Rocco"
Translated into the classic - Rocco meats an american angel in Paris (Savannah Sampson-one of my fav dvd's)
The dvd was made in france and the only difference is that the language is in french. But of course you can switch the language to english so basically theres no problem.
I also came across many others out there (dunno if your familiar with Rocco) but there were loads of his True anal stories, and Animal trainers. The thing is the titles were in french with no series numbers so it was hard to tell what was what. For example they had Animal Trainer 3 on dvd which is not yet released on dvd in USA. (wish i bought that one!)
As to actually purchasing them over the net - i never done it. Theres more choice on USA sites i reackon. The only thing i can suggest is that you go to amsterdam and buy european ones there. If you do go can you get me Animal Trainer 3???
This is a tricky topic, and I can't give a definitive answer either. Some producers, e.g. Rocco, are known to produce Euro versions, but others will release the same movie on both sides of the pond, just perhaps with a different title.
Some Euro versions contain material generally considered unacceptable in the States (e.g. fisting or GS) but some are no different - except for the mandatory dubbing of German versions!
Rocco's online shop, for example, sells uncut versions (VHS) of his movies, but some are actually the same (I hear all TAS are the same, anyway) while others have the forbidden fruit!
Also a lot of Zane and Max Hardcore stuff is released on the German EFA label with more hardcore content. Then there are, as Snowden alludes to, the Euro versions with altered names just to confuse you!
Try the International Shopping forum on this very site to find some suggestions of vendors abroad. But as Snowden says, US sites often have better choice and better prices too.
Snowden, I have seen a site selling these French Rocco movies, I was wondering if they are akin to the US version or the Italian/uncensored version. It's annoying that they have given them all different titles, isn't it?
Hi madbrdr, I've seen a few porn movies that were made in the US, but released in Europe with extra footage that was deleted in the American versions. Some of the ones I can remember were from Max Hardcore but there are many others as well. Seems they featured full-fisting, pissing, and even some very rough bondage action, which is a big no-no in the US - thus these movies were made only for release in Europe, where they aren't so uptight about such things...

Very annoying! I had to try and recognise the girls to deduce which movie I was looking at!

I read a review of Euro Angels: Hardball 3 on AVN, they said in the review: "The frosty wife gets her ass royally plunged (and fisted, which is edited around for vanilla American consumption) by Anderson", this was cut and paste from the AVN.com review.

Mike and Hardz - I am not entirely sure that AVN were accurate with that description. If it was edited, then how did they know it was there in the first place? A lot of the Hardball series gets close to fisting but not quite...
Christoph used to direct videos for his Clark label, issued by the DBM stable in Germany. These could have featured fisting if required, as a great number of DBM movies do, but from the box covers that I've seen (I confess I have never seen one of the movies, so this is all supposition) there was no fisting illustrated. Perhaps someone who has seen European editions of Christoph's movies could confirm or deny if he shoots any fisting.
Hardball 13 did have a scene where sex with a girl who was restrained was edited around, perhaps in the way that AVN's review suggests, but my gut feeling is that in Clark's movies, by and large, what you see is all there is.
