But is there anyone else who, like me, would actually rather be in the director's shoes? If I suddenly acquired a substantial amount of money, the first thing I would do is make big-budget porn films, with costumes, storyline, and top talent. When I watch films, I'm always thinking what I might do differently in order to make something that I really want. If I couldn't direct, I'd want to collaborate in some way on the scenario. Is this just me, or is this a widespread thing? And, for those of you familiar with the industry, is there any chance for an average person to some day contribute to the creative processes involved in making a film? [Link] |

I'd see if I could get French stars Ovidie and the now-retired Chloë des Lysses (who was in Rocco Siffredi's 1995 The Bodyguard and who has written a book on Sade) on board as well. And I'd need to find some suitable blond-haired performer to be Justine. The films would obviously leave some of Sade's details out (like male-male sex, which probably wouldn't fly well with consumers, and coprophagia, for obvious reasons), but would still push the limits a bit (fans of dirty anal wouldn't be disappointed). Things like murder and dismemberment would only be hinted at rather than shown, creating a dark and tense atmosphere that's erotically charged without being gruesome. And eighteenth century costumes would be a must. There shouldn't be problems with obscenity prosecutions because the films would be of clear artistic and scholarly merit (there are quite a few Sade scholars who would testify in court for the defense, just in case). Director is not my type of thing either cause I wouldn't want to tell other people how to have sex. I'd love to write though. Writing down a cool story, nice dialogues and spicing everything with some neat perversions. That would be great.  [Link] |
