Hello ADT! - I have heard that some fans and porn industry folks were curious about what I am upto lately - so - I thought I would stop in and say hiya! - thanks for the support and interest.

It's been a tough year for me - a roller coaster ride to say the least - I still haven't found a place to truly call home for my movies - I have been shooting for Metro/Cal Vista for the last year but executive changes within the company have made it pretty difficult to continue. Change, they say is inevitable - I am rolling with it - I am very happy with the movies I have made for Metro/Cal Vista - I appreciate the opportunity I had with them - some of the best work I have done to date. Taboo 21 in particular - A fun project that I think a lot of people will talk about when it hits the streets in 2005.

I am nominated this year for the 2005 AVN Awards for Best Director and Best Feature for "The Getaway" Starring Kelly Erikson for Metro. I am very grateful that AVN has chosen to show their support for me again this year with these nominations - I have been nominated in these categories three out of four years I have been making XXX features. Thanks to Paul Fishbein and the entire AVN editorial staff - it's an honor to be recognized out of the mountain of adult video product every year.

I have recently launched my website redezra.com October 1st, 2004 - the redezra.com web site features my fetish photography and some erotic video clips - fetish photography was always just a hobby for me while the movies were my biggest concern and creative focus - now that the site has become a reality and recently gone online, I spend all my free time shooting and working on it - my hobby has become a business and major creative outlet for my work. I have found that I really enjoy shooting stills since it doesnt involve a big crew and cast - it's just me and the model(s) - it's a nice change. I plan to continue to grow to be a pro level photographer the likes of a Suze Randall, Ken Marcus, or Earl Miller. It is a goal of mine to have some books of my work someday - maybe shoot for magazines and do my own box cover shots.

I have shot two music videos this year for the hard rock band DAMAGEPLAN - "Breathing New Life" and "Explode" - both have played several times on MTV's Headbanger's Ball and Fuse's URANIUM - DAMAGEPLAN is the new band from former PANTERA members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul - I am very close friends with them being from Texas and I shot several video projects with Pantera before they broke up including the music video for "Drag The Waters" and the "Pantera Home Video Part Three - Watch it Go!" which went platinum sales last year. I have been exploring more opportunities in music video recently as a result of the success of these projects.

As a result of the changes at Metro, I had to try and find another production company to work for. I talked with Vivid and made a deal to shoot two features starring Savanna Samson in January 2005 right after the AVN Expo. I am really looking forward to working with Vivid and their beautiful contract starlet Savanna - I hope that this is the start of a very long, creative, and exciting relationship making features for Vivid and their girls. I can't imagine ever running out of inspiration with the incredible Vivid contract stars.

Please post any questions you might have about me or my work - comments you might have for or against my work - as long as it is constructive and not destructive - I appreciate the feedback - you can also send me e-mail - I am looking forward to my best year ever in 2005 - It's going to be a great year for Red Ezra - thank you for your support and I look forward to spending more time here at the ADT Forums.

Hey Ezra! Great to have you around here at ADVDT! The fetish aspect sounds great, so hopefully you find a studio who's willing to let you shoot something like that! I have The Getaway sitting on my desk now, so I'll try to take a look at that soon. I watched Web Cam Girls last night (review coming later this week) with mixed results. On paper I think there's a lot of great ideas, but something about it didn't quite work for me. Hopefully I'll have it figured out by the time I finish the review.

For the people living in their closet for the last few years who haven't heard of you, what movies would you recomment people check out to get a feel for you?

Hey astroknight - glad to hear you are still watching my movies - as far as Web Cam Girls - it has some good scenes in it - but I agree it might not come off as one of my better efforts all said and done - like most two day features - you get what you get sometimes - no time for being creative - you just get it done and hope it works out in editing - no excuses - no regrets - the Venus/Julian scene and Sophie Evans/Chris Cannon scene are pretty strong - hot scenes with hot performers....I think you will like The Getaway much more - that movie has a bigger feel to it and has some great scenes in it.

As far as what movies to watch to "get a feel for Red Ezra?" ummm...well - they are all so different really - I would say that Wicked's Fast Cars & Tiki Bars and New Sensation's Hearts & Minds are two of the better shows I have done so far - the ones that feel like they came off the way I wanted them too - all the way down to the box cover design - the whole package. The Getaway is one of those type shows too - I do pretty well with the vignette/all sex storyline usually - would much rather work on shows like that instead of big scripts - but I like the challenge sometimes of big scripts and the company needs the flagship titles - they take a long time to complete though so ultimately they hurt to do too many of these big ones - Taboo 21 is a good example of this - it has taken me months to get it done. The biggest show I have tried to do since Wicked's Roadblock - a lot of the same kinds of problems too.

I would say that the shows are all so different - you just have to pick something that sounds good to you...I'm sure some people like certain shows more than others - it seems this way from reading reviews usually - everyone has their own opinion and take on things. This is usually almost always the case especially with lesbian titles - lesbians are very critical of girl girl - I have been very lucky so far with all the girl girl stuff I have done - they have all been nominated for awards and received pretty well with the lesbian community - the shows are usually designed for couples but lesbians like them a lot - I try to pay attention to details and that's important. Flash! After Hours, Pussy Sweat. I enjoy girl girl myself so I think that makes a big difference - it shows in the work - most producers it seems do not like shooting girl girl - they find it boring - but it's all how much you put into it what you get back.

I would chat more but I have been up all night - ask me some more and I will respond another time - thanks!

Great news about your Vivid deal ! I've been waiting for this ever since I've seen "Hearts & Minds" & "Body Talk" , possibly my favourite Chloe Jones ever. I can't wait to see you work with Savanna, and I hope Mercedez one day. There's still an audience for gorgeous girls, handsome men & splendid photography. And welcome to the board !

Thanks so much Vodka Tonic and Only! - I'm glad to hear I have some fans here - makes it all worthwhile - it's nice to get the feedback - I usually don't get that - I hope Vivid works out for me - looking forward to working with them and Savanna. Will keep you all posted and thanks!

I was just going to throw in my kudos and welcomes as well, because I'm an admirer of your work, but now I just have to say how terrible I feel about what happened tonight with Damageplan. It's shocking and heartbreaking.

Red, it's great to have you posting here. I haven't seen any of your recent films but my favorites from your past are Sweetwater and Roadblock. I hope you continue to do the big scripts as you do a great job with them. I prefer your scripted films to ones like Fast Cars and Tiki Bars which I didn't think worked as well. Congrats on the AVN nominations and I'll have to check out some of your recent work.

Red,

I cannot believe I didn't get nominated for best non-sex role in "Impact." There must have been a conspiracy! All joking aside, Red is a extremely talented director and very easy to work with, as proven with his AVN Nominations. I had a lot of fun working with him over at Metro. Anything I can do, you always know where to find me. Stop by and say hi when you're in the area. Anyways, Savanna's awesome. She's one of the coolest chicks in the biz. You'll have a blast working with her.

Thanks,

Red - I don't know what you mean by grow to the level of Suze Randall, Ken Marcus or Earl Miller unless you mean just being able to do it full time.

You photos are FANTASTIC.

I also have to agree with Only. After Hours is great.

Anyway you could pry the reigns of Where the Boys Aren't out of Chi Chi La Rue's hands and not place any naked men in it?

Thanks everyone for your heartfelt messages regarding the passing of my dear friend Dimebag Darrell - it has been a very difficult time for all of us who were close to him.

Please give me some time to heal from the loss and I will address your questions and comments at a later time.

CLICK HERE for the boxcover of Red's 1st movie with Vivid. The good news is Savanna & Monique have the leads. The bad news (for me at least) is that the male cast is low on eye-candy. I guess I'll pass but I'll keep my eyes open for future collaborations.

So, how was it to work with Savanna? She is quickly becoming one of my favorite stars.

Good luck, and I hope you end up finding a company that you work best with. Keep things fresh!

Is that Monique Alexander? I remember seeing a pic of her at Las Vegas and thought she was a natural knockout. I also noticed that Manuel Ferrara is in this one. Manuel in a Vivid movie, what's going on? LOL

Red's movies have mostly high ratings from the reviews, so this could be good.

Monique Alexander has signed an exclusive with Vivid, and so far this and "X Marks The Spot" (by ChiChi w. Tommy Gunn & Julian, I'm buying this one ) are her 1st pre-releases. No boxcover yet, I hope she won't be relegated to supporting roles. She's doing b/g now. I only know Monique from her simu b/g in softcore series such as "Hotel Erotica", "Sex House" & "Sexy Urban Legends", and she's a natural beauty. Here's hoping she stays that way. Manuel had a scene w. Savanna in "Woman Under Glass" some years ago which was the hotspot of the otherwise so-so movie.

Hey everybody - thanks for keeping an eye out for my work - DRIVE turned out better than I had hoped for - Savanna Samson was a dream to work with - she is so beautiful, talented, and dedicated to the work, a real pleasure. Monique Alexander and I have worked together before a few times, she is adorable and so sexy too - Vivid did the right thing signing this rising starlet. I would love to hear any personal reviews of this movie - it ships out April 14th, 2005 - thanks!!!

Interesting personal history. I graduated from art school and didn't do shit with it. Well, other than making it into a couple of juried exhibitions. Couldn't stand the politics, so that didn't last long either. Anyway, congratulations on being able to be creative professionally! I think most people aren't that lucky.

I watched Drive the other night. Very nicely done. Monique is only in one scene, but Savanna does a nice job throughout the entire movie. Red Ezra has made some good movies in the past, but I think this one might be one of his best in quite a while. I'm really looking forward to his Vivid followup, Savanna's Love Letters , which just came out...

Okay, reviews of both Drive and Savanna's Love Letters should be coming out early next month when I get my "Vivid Block" together. In the mean time, I'd definitely recommend Drive , and I think it has a very good replay factor to it.

Savanna's Love Letters on the other hand I'd rent. There's some good stuff there, but it's about two hours long and feels like it should have been around an hour and a half. It's not uncommon to have a twenty minute sex scene with only three positions, and I even found Savanna and Monique's pairing to be ungodly long (twenty minutes with each girl getting one position with a toy and one without IIRC). It's pretty, but in the end it was stretched out so far that it frequently left me a little bored.
