What do you make of this multi-award winner's work ? As far as I can tell he's made mostly features for Wicked , plus a few for Vivid , so he might not be on everyone's 'watch list' . Of people who have seen ( or even been in ! ) his features , what do you think of them ? Does he shoot good sex scenes , how well do you feel he handles the non-sex segments ? And if you have any favourite discs then here's a place to mention them .

I have seen two of his movies. Suspicious Minds and Porn Star. I liked SM so much that I bought it. The sex looks good to me, but then I'm a fan of kinder, gentler porn. I liked Stormy's scene with Marc Davis ("My Tiara!" ) and Jessica Drake's scenes with Armstrong and Chris Cannon in SM. The locations were fantastic and the cast was attractive.

I would definitely rent more of his stuff. I'm looking forward to renting Fluff and Fold soon.

Brad is my favorite director to work with. He's pays attention to detail and is very talented. You can pretty much count on the movie being beautiful and full of attractive girls. He's pleasant on set and never compromises the integrity of the project. A great director with an incredible sense of art direction and making girls look their best.

I think he's a talented director and has proved himself to be very innovative with flicks like Conquest, Flashpoint, Dreamquest and Euphoria. I listened to some of his commentary and he seems like a really nice guy. His marriage to Jenna Jameson is also something he sould be really proud of. I believe he deserves some credit for helping Jenna become a star and grow as an actress on the feature market.

From the outside, I think Brad is a pretty darn good filmmaker.

I don't watch his movies a ton just because our ideal sex scenes differ so much, and I think people should watch porn that they're going to personally enjoy.

But I think that if a person is into the gentler stuff, they would most likely really like Brad's movies.

I even actually really liked Euphoria (Bridgette Kerkove helped spice it up to my sexual tastes a little )!)

I think I understand where you're coming from with this comment, to have the pleasure of being with Jenna.
But I bet Jenna would offer a different opinion on if he should be proud of that marriage or not.

Brad is extremely talented.

Conquest
Dream Quest
Euphoria
Improper Conduct
Kink

All come to mind as great examples of his abilities as a director.

If I had a complaint about them it would be that on rare occasions he sometimes get's caught up in the details a little too much.

Wait until you see Lover's Lane. Great movie and thank you Stormy for doing such a fabulous job writing it. It's about time I got a script that actually moves me.

I think the hallmark of Armstrong's work is consistency. In the last four years, there have been movies of his I didn't like that much, but there hasn't been one I could say is just a slipshod piece of crap.

I would agree with most of the comments that his strength is in art direction (and costume design, especially, which he seems to pay a lot of attention to), but he's also a good writer.

One sex-related idiosyncrasy I've noticed is that he's not afraid to throw in a blowjob-only scene into a movie. It's often plot-appropriate, and I like that.

Another thing I like about the guy is his persona on commentaries. He can be a bull-buster with the female stars, in a playful way. He's pretty funny, and he seems to have a good sense of humor about himself, especially about himself as a performer. I love the running joke (well, I guess it's real and not a joke) that as a performer he likes to direct himself into positions (lying on his back) where he can let the women do all the work.

As far as favorite discs -- Improper Conduct is one of my favorite movies ever. Eye of the Beholder, which is just out, is very well done and a good representation of what he does. Among some slightly older flicks that have not been mentioned that I think are worth a peek are: The Kissing Game, Falling From Grace, and Spellbound.

Spellbound is notable to me mainly because it was the first time I saw Devinn Lane, but also because it had a great trailer. If you have a Wicked disc from around that era, be sure to check it out. (In many ways it's better than the actual movie, really).

That's not really his wheelhouse, but there have been a couple. Suspicious Minds is pretty funny. Sex on Film is a comedy, I guess, but I wouldn't call it a laugh a minute. Fluff and Fold appears to be a straight-out, possibly slapsticky comedy, but I haven't seen it yet.

Is that code for : doesn't fall asleep during the sex scenes or leave it up to someone else to handle that work ? I've heard tales of other directors ... The Lovers Lane movie is the slasher flick , right ?
Something I've noticed is that he loves to introduce a wide pan shot in the middle of most of his sex scenes . I guess he must mount the camera on a crane and slowly pan over the action . It's the one thing which stops me from properly enjoying his stuff , because it really interrupts the flow of my , ahum , enjoyment . ;) Starting in the middle distance and then moving slowly over and past the people fucking might work better as an introduction to the scene instead of coming in the middle . Sort of a 'scene setter' instead of a wood killer .

Apart from that though I've enjoyed what I've seen and heard from him : Julia Ann has probably never looked more beautiful than in Class Act . Nice horses too !
