For me he's pretty overrated but only because his movies are too fetish for my taste as a bare foot fan with all the stockings and high heels and stuff he uses in his movies.
He's my favorite Gonzo director by far. I appreciate attention to what the women are wearing. I appreciate scenes with woman wearing lingerie. It's not all about the lingerie though, he finds a way to get the best scenes out of the women he uses. I think he is actually underrated.

I love JJ's movies and think he is really talented, I just think the opening tease sessions often go on for too long. However thats just a minor complaint and I can always hit the FF button! Most others don't have any tease at all and thats even more annoying.
I think Jules is a great director and performer. I like the girls he films in his titles esp. Jenna Haze. Like myself, he has a passion for lovely plump arses. Also you're always guaranteed for him to unload a decent cum shot!!
I like the way he dresses and presents the girls, and I like the massive facials. The two scenes he shot with Jeanie Rivers almost made me blow a load spontaneously, with no stimulation.
My favorite series of his is "Ass Worship" , although if a particular girl I like is in a "Flesh Hunter" or "W.O.A.D" , I'll watch them.
I don't like anal play with butt plugs and toys, nor do I care for gaping, so I spend a lot of time fast forwarding through that.
i think jules jordan and joey silvera are the two best directors out there. i probably like his weapons of ass destruction series along with his once you go black series the best. i always look forward to his new releases.
Jules Jordan is my fave porn director by far. He has that certain something. He hasn't reinvented the wheel. He gets the hottest girls, with the roundest butts, dresses them sexy. He then proceeds to walk them around for a moment, and then he and his friends have their way with them. It's not a high concept, but it damn sure works!

Jules Jordan is one of the few directors I'll rent even if the film doesn't have a girl I like in it. His films are consistently high quality with great production and direction. When he does do a film with a girl I like in it, I definitely buy it (Jules if you read this, Marie Luv needs to be in one of your films...so as I have good reason to buy it.)Darla Crane was in Lex the Impaler . It is probably the sexiest, best shot scene she has done. I think most of the girls he shoots have done their best scenes for him. He is able to draw out great performances from his talent.
I just recently picked up this Weapons of Ass Destruction 3 . It was a great film. Long with lots of tease and great sex all well shot with ample lighting. Personally, I really like long sex scenes. It takes a while to get me going, I like lots of tease and long sex to keep up the mental fantasy stimulation.
I'm really impressed by this work. He is right at the top of the heap for Gonzo. I bet he could direct good features if he had the mind to do it.
I admit that but that's not enough. I mean Andrew Blake always does a fantastic job when it comes to making the girls look beautiful but for me it's all about the heat. Heat that Stagliano always knows to capture in his movies.
In my opinion, Jules Jordan is THE best gonzo director working in the biz today. Sure, there are plenty of others who rely on circus acts to sell their movies but nobody captures the beauty of the female form better than JJ and his tremendous body of work more than adequately proves my point.
That's just about the exact opposite of me then ! For me it's his tease footage which is his strongest suit : once the sex starts it's better captured but still little different to any other gonzo - the camera swings around , the performers fuck , the tape rolls .
I probably own more Jules Jordan DVDs than all my other gonzo titles combined , so he must be doing something right ! On the other hand , I'm buying less these days . His titles seem to have become more brutal ( or am I just more attuned to the casual violence of American porn than before ) so they're less appealing . If he could cut out some of the double stuff I'd be a much happier bunny . And an all tease video would go down well too .
Ass Worship is probably the series which crumbles my cookie the most . Big beautiful booties lovingly captured on tape - though I could do without the toy stuff - what more could a butt fan ask for . Top of the pile is probably Ass Worship 2 : with Ryan Conner and Shyla Styles almost cartoon-like in their voluptuousness . Real life versions of Girl if ever I saw one ! But IMHO his best scene is with Briana Blaze from Perfect Specimens . For once there was actually some context for the fucking - employee nabs the boss' daughter - which made it all feel more alive than the usual "girl at the door : let's fuck" routine . Well , it was better for me , at any rate ...
Very good quality of his videos as well as his great taste in the selection of women..I admit some directors like some of these actresses that I think are absolute dogs, not with jules.one of the most CONSISTANT directors i have watched, since I rarely ever see a film that isnt good by jules...but his excellent choice in hot women r what makes his films, as well as greatly executed anal scenes.. :)

I like some of the scenes in his movies, but rarely more than the one scene per DVD, I bought a few of his movies because of the hype, now I know he's not my type of director, I won't bother anymore...
I don't understand how a director could be overated by fans. What would any fan have to gain from doing so. If someone says Jules is their favourite director ever, i have no reason to doubt they think that. Jules is one of my favourite directors with John Stagliano and Christoph Clark. I own more of his videos than any other director and i buy them again and again because i know they are so good (why else?) My favourite videos are his harder (anal) ones (WOAD 1,2,3 and Space Invaderz). I think the main reason he is so good is that he presents the girls so well (both looks and directing performances). I get the impression that the girls know this too and therefor love to work for/with him. Plus i really appreciate how much interaction he has with fans. It means alot and makes the videos better.
Lots of dirty talk (from those who can do it convincingly), lots of wiggling and posing and mugging for the camera. No dudes, no masturbation with fake moans and orgasms, no toys, just lovingly captured female gorgeousness. Show me the monkey!
I admire one thing in particular about his stuff: consistency. Whether or not I'm digging what's happening or who's in the scene, it looks appealing and captured with love by someone who cares about the end quality.

That's my only complaint too. But to be fair, I complain about teases in general from just about any director. Other than that -- like I said in another thread -- he's the best at what he does.
the first jules scene i saw was Luna Lane's from flesh hunter 1. I have been a fan since, i loved the way he maked luna look but mostly the way he accentuated her body and sexuality with the camera and made it shine through, my favourite scene would have to be taylor rains from WOAD 2 which is not as good as taylor's FH5 scene, another standout is Belladonna's scene from Ass Worship 2, she is my favourite performer and her engergy in this scene is just incredible.
I think he is the best in the business today. Love his work. Never miss one of his new releases. Hot girls- great tease footage- unbelievably hot sex. Jules Jordan produces can't miss pornography.
Jules is my favorite director overall. Mike John, Brandon Iron, and a few others are high up on the list, but Jules is just ridiculously good.
I'm currently renting "The Dark Side of Gina Lynn", and it has some of the hottest stuff I've seen from him, and that's saying a lot. What's really good about it is that it showcases examples of all the different kinds of scenes he shoots - Feeding Frenzy (my all-time favorite series by any director), Flesh Hunter, etc.. The overall impact is mind boggling.
When it comes to tease segments though, Jules blows everyone else away with how consistently he gets this right. He really understands how hot it can be to see a fully-clothed or partially-clothed woman as opposed to a completely nude one, if it's filmed right.
I could go on ad nauseum in great detail about all the other things he gets right almost every time - eye-contact, lighting, angles, makeup, etc., but I've sucked up enough aready!
His stuff never really did it for me. It's just cookie cutter gonzo IMHO. It may be better than what RLD/PXP/Xxabolic puts out, but it still feels too robotic for me. No discernible heat or chemistry, just going through the motions.
Even when I went for gonzo, Evil Angel's consistant use of stockings, shoes and weird (others may find them sexy) outfits made me stay well clear.

My favorite thing about Jules is that he consistently seems to get some of the best scenes of a girl's career.
Aurora Snow, Jenna Haze, August, Tiffany Mynx...
I have no doubt that if I had still been performing when Jules came to Evil Angel, he would have gotten my second-best scene ever. (Sorry, Jules - you're pretty amazing, but no one could get a better scene from me than my husband. )
You forget Jade Marcela! Although she appeared in over 200 movies *everyone* always cites Ass Worship #01 as her best scene. That certainly made an impression on me.

A year or two years ago I would have ranked Jules Jordan in my top fice porn directors, today I don't know if he was make the top fifteen. Yes, his videos look great. Yes, the girls always look stunning. Yes, he is one those guys who always shoots from the best angle and makes the best cut. Still, most of his stuff just feels stale to me. The vibe seems to be the same from video to video. Compare that to Joey Silvera's porn where you never know what to really expect and the difference is clear. At least to me. And for all that stuff he does well, at this point in time I think Darkko does that better.
This brings up an interesting point. I love Joey's stuff. And yes, he does take more chances. But those chances often fall flat (at least for me). But when he gets it right, it is an awesome thing to see.
It is precisely the consistency of Jules' stuff that appeals to me. I don't see his work as having gone stale (although I admit to taking a pass lately on some of the recent Flesh Hunter and Ass Worship entries 'cause they seemed like more of the same). After watching several recent rentals where I had to FF through bad lighting, little-or-no eye-contact, crappy angles, etc., putting "Gina Lynn's Dark Side" in my player was like a revelation. It's is so much better than most porn it's not even funny. Just the pure eye-candy factor of watching Gina given the "Jules" treatment in the tease segments alone is like happening on an oasis in the porn desert.
I couldn't watch Jules' stuff every day. But that's why we're lucky to have the likes of Joey, Brandon, Mike John, Vince Voyeur, Mason, Van Styles, et al to supply the wonderful variety of porn that's out there.
Again this personal choice but when you get right down to it filmed sex is filmed sex. Certainly the variations & acts may vary from video to video but when you get down to it, literally, its just people having sex. I'll grant you that sometimes Joey's stuff doesn't work, although I'd argue it does work more often than not but that it works or doesn't work is beside the point. It's the anticipation of not knowing what his twisted mind is going to present is what gives his porn an edge and what makes it so much hotter to me. For the most part I know exactly what I'm going to get with a Jules Jordan video and I guess after watching porn for so long, I'm a little bored by that. It's why I'm more drawn to the stuff my Joey Silvera, William H or Zupco. In the long run one director isn't better than another, just different.
Come on ... that in effect makes all directors EQUAL. I think most of us would agree, some directors consistently produce better porn than others - even they use different styles.
I may be wrong,but I could have sworn I watched a Kaylynn dp by another director I THINK was Cory Jordan.And damn if it didn't look exactly like a by the numbers Jules scene.Except Kaylynn didn't look as enthusiastic as she did in her two previous Jules directed DP's.
