As a rule of thumb, pretty much everything directors, camera men, and post-production editors do is bad IMO. Not intentionally, but they are constantly interfering with what could be hot sex. The evolution of porn is proof of this.
I remember a hot scene of Vanessa Blue and I think Marco Banderos, where it was just a camera on a tripod in full view of a non squeeky well lit bed with nobody else in the room. That was the hottest scene I've ever seen Vanessa Blue perform, and I've seen a few. No cuts, no direction, no script, no close-ups, no camera movement, just two good looking people who knew how to have hot sex on camera.
Would love to see a site that throws two hot pornstars together, and the director just says fuck each other the way you want to fuck, and promptly fucks off himself. Maybe have two fixed full shot cameras at 90 degrees, as long as post production doesn't cut between them for at least a minute.
Full picture, no distractions, hot sex, would be good enough. But nowadays I think the performers would need to be explicitly instructed not to follow any routine, and not pose for the camera. Do whatever positions you want, for as long as you want. That would add to the reality and unpredictability of the scene, and make consumers come back for more.

^^Trying to catch the wind?
With that approach how could the directors, camera men, and post-production editors justify their pay?
The ONLY porn film that I've seen that achieved the result you're looking for was "The Art of Sex" by Viv Thomas. The last time I looked it wasn't even available in NTSC format.
As for the rest, I've had to edit every porn film I've ever viewed, including those from the Golden Era, although I will concede that those did not require as much editing as the more recent productions.
It's a rare film produced after 1990 that is even worth editing. When you cut out all the stupid close-ups and crazy camera angles you don't have much left. That's even true for the longer sex scenes. Instead of five to seven minutes of a well acted, filmed scene you now have 10 to 20 minutes of ??? that according to many posters here on ADT require the use of the Fast Forward button.
One of my editing guidelines is to cut any frame (sex scene action) that does not show, at least, some portion of the female performer's head (hopefully her face). The face is where 90% of the acting is done.
When I apply this rule, I often lose 50% or more of the frames in the sex scenes.

Yeah I get what your saying, but unfortunately I think a lot of people would get bored with it fairly soon.
There are times that I literally pray for the director/cameraperson to hold a shot or at least not bounce around so often. All too often though they start showing like a million angles.
Not convinced a completely "fixed" camera can truly do a scene justice though. Maybe that Vanessa/Marco scene could prove otherwise to me, but true spontaneous sex can't always be predicted though IMO. Maybe a combination of a fixed point, combined with a director who simply follows the action, as opposed to trying to create it all the time would do.

i feel i cant win either way
i either get nice camera work but they spend half an hour gaping the chicks ass or something else that bores me or they are fucking hard but the camera is terrible, zoomed right on the whole time on the genitals...cant tell what their facial expressions are or anything....so clinical and anything but a turn on
in the end i think i would rather see it filmed on a tripod and they just go at it.
the way they filmed sex scenes in bigger productions were how i like it, just also happened the sex was boring.
