Clan Monique, Ultra, Jesse - bustin' suckas down under! 1433 Posts 12/04 | The recent release of Teagan Presley's SLUT PUPPIES 2 scene (from her gonzo period) and series like Evil Vault prove that some directors like to hang onto a scene and then release it long after the scene was shot, rather than ASAP, or as part of an overall themed DVD. I wonder what criteria are involved in withholding a scene? Interested to hear from directors, and any examples of scenes that they released for the first time (i.e. non-compilation) long after they were shot. What's the longest hiatus between shooting and release? For myself as a fan, it's exciting stuff, as it suggests that a new, potentially important part of your favourite star's canon has yet to be seen. I'd love to think that Christoph Clark, for example, has a whole pile of scenes with stars like Sandra Romain or Daniella Rush that he hasn't ever released. I'd also like to think that directors hang onto scenes to make sure it's used in the best possible way in a release, but this presupposes directors are interested in crafting a gonzo like a good recording artist crafts an album, which can be a somewhat naive notion. The cynical flipside of that is that a really great scene might be withheld to hype up a film that's looking kind of weak and guarantee sales. Really keen to hear from directors on this, and if they want to leak info about some scenes they have had in the can for a while now, they should feel free to drop cryptic hints. [Link] |
