i only rent from mike john and uncle vince titles. everytime i rent a video i only see a bunch of dogs in the video. i think david lugar and robby ficsher are shooting just to shoot witnout caring about the quality of girls. theyre videos all look the same to me. am i the only one? this isnt a knock on red light. its just what i see. good boxes poor girls.
I can see where you're coming from, gonz, but I think that the majority of RLD, and various other new studios, want to turn out as much product as possible, a quantity over quality thing. I sure as hell wouldn't mind waiting a week or even a month for a 5 star title, rather than a 4 star or below title.
I think it depends on the director. Mike John movies are all very good, Erik's and Vince's mostly. But you can forget almost everything that is directed by Robbie Fisher and especially David Lugar. Mike John makes quality products, for Lugar and Fisher only quantity counts.
I beg to differ! RLD has some of the best looking woman in porn working for them. Just check out the box cover of Out Numbered #2 for ex.. It's just a matter of taste. Some of the female you might think are dogs might just be a knockout to someone else. Their movie sell very well cause they offer a high percentage of what the buyers want, including pretty girls. To get really pretty ladies who don't do the nastiest you might have to switch to some other brand like Vivid etc..Good luck
Well I do have to hand it to Mike John,Erick Everhard,and Vince Vouyer with coming out with Excellent product for the RLD empire.However it is absurd to think that you can "FORGET" about everything that Luger or Fischer comes out with. David Lugers SWALLOW MY PRIDE,WORLD CLASS ASS(in Brazil);and Black Dicks in White Chicks;all have great looking girls mostly;and only a (few) average ones. I view approx 2 out of 3 titles released by Red Light District and I would have to agree, David Luger is by far the weakest link at the studio when it comes to the selection of female talent. If the girls aren't viewable, what's the point? and how many hideous Brazilian girls is he going to keep putting in front of the camera? ...On the flip side, say what you will about the guys attitude but Vince knows how to pick a good cast.
I have to agree! Shelby Belle´s scene in NCDA 2 is one of my alltime favourites... Further more Vince Vouyer´s GANG BANG 2 is much more my kind of taste than the Gangbang Girl Series from Anabolic as there often a less attractive girl distracts from the real star (as Sweet Nicky does with the absolute fantastic Shelby) so in my opinion some real highlights, about the other stuff i do not worry too much;-)
I pretty much agree with the initial assesment, though I think the original poster might have been a tad bit too critical of Robbie Fischer and David Luger.
With RedLight, Mike John is king to me. Vince Vouyer and Erik Everhard are right behind him. The only problem I have with Erik is that he seems to primarily shoot Eurogirls. That's cool. There's a definite market for that and regardless of who the girl is the quality is still there. However, I much prefer American girls. That's just my thing.
For me though, Robbie and David have been wildly hit and miss. And it is too early really to tell on Jake Malone because I've only seen two of his tapes and they were too hardcore for me. That didn't meant they were bad.
I used to love RedLight. Now, DevilsFilm is my favorite.

I tend to disagree as well. I watch ALOT of RLD stuff, yes Vince, Mike and Erik are the strongest, but Robbie and David do just fine on their own. As for talent, well that boils down to taste and I can't say I remember a movie with the cast as a whole not acceptable.
On a side note, I agree with DreamWeaver (on some level anyway), but I'm getting a bit tired of all the Brazilian girls. A movie here and there is cool, but there was a spurt of RLD the last month or 2
I hate to be critical, but I've seen a few RLD videos and I avoid anything by that Vince Voyeur guy - that guy seems to hate women and a lot of that negativty gets transmitted onto the screen (humiliation of a girl doesn't turn me on, it's not very erotic, and I think videos should be a form of female worship if that makes sense). I also tend to avoid RLD because so many of the male actors talk too dirty, too loud and nonstop.
i cant speak of everhard or jake malone. ive never seen their movies. mike john is great. uncle vince is great. david lugar and robbie ficsher are really horrible. they shoot generic. every scene looks the same. half their girls are just gross.

Greetings, For me there is no greater value for the money than Red Light District. From the directors, to the picture quality, the sound, the dvd extras..its all top notch. I buy every release, some I like more than others, but I never feel that I didnt get my moneys worth. Some people complain that it always seems the same, but I am glad that they always use the same style because I enjoy the interaction with the girls and the girls playing to the camera. I hate gonzo that uses phoney setups and girls that ignore the camera. I hope Redlight never changes their style. Others complain that they release too many movies a month, and that is just foolish. There are eight directors...Vouyer,Ribas,Malone, Luger,John,Fischer,Everhard, and Ferrara. If anything they dont release enough movies a month! I hope Redlight will do what other companies do and let the directors each release 2 movies a month. I also enjoy the variety of girls they hire, who wants to watch the same girls over and over? For me, if the box is printed with the Redlight District logo, its already passed the highest quality standards.
I agree, the last Luger film I saw was the LAST Luger film I'll ever see. Following the raid on Anabolic/Diabolic's talent RLD seemed destined to rival Evil Angel. Now they've taken a huge step backward. In rushing tons of material out the door quality control has gone to hell. I'll never watch any Vince Voyeur stuff and the films from Luger and Fischer are pure garbage. I'll check out some of Mike John's new films, but in 6 months RLD has gone from a studio where I wanted to see everything to one where I'd rather see little to nothing. Keep shoveling the crap out the door without an eye toward maintaining quality and a lot of other once loyal customers will move on to greener pastures. There are plenty of other studios.
Each RLD director brings an interesting & unique perspective in their skin flicks. Personally I like them all especially MJ, EE, & VV. David Luger is getting better with each release & haven't seen too much of the other RLD directors to form an honest opinion.

What really disturbs me on RLD movies is that they have too often specific themes through the whole movie. In "Cum In My Ass Not In My Mouth" every scene ends with a cum shot in the ass, "7 the Hardway" always have seven dicks and one chick, "1 in the Pink, 1 in the Stink" has dp in every scene,... (the list is endless).
Therefore you have nearly the same positions in every scene, it's not much alternation in it. Every scene in every volume of this series looks a bit like the other. That's okay for one or two volumes, but with more releases it gets boring in my opinion.
In my opinion RLD have gone downhill. There was a time early on when you had to see EVERY RLD release, because you knew it would be sensational. And every tape was almost chock full of killer scenes. Like someone else said here, that after a while the regulars will drop off if they keep getting dished up crap. I am one of those regulars. These day I am very selective about my RLD purchases. Definately grab almost anything from Mike John. Vince is good most of the time. Erik's stuff is generally always pretty good too, although I wish he would use less Euro girls, but that is just a personal taste.
Although I truly believe RLD have gone down, it is fair to say some other companies/directors have had a poor recent run of casting. As above with RLD you used to always HAVE to buy everything from Anabolic and Diabolic. Nowadays you steer clear of more ANA/DIA than you purchase. Even some of Jules Jordans latest releases and Joey Silvera's are not what they used to be. Jules has an asian thing going at the moment it seems. Anabolic has the same via Chico.
i think red light district movies are better now than in the past. their best directors are eric everhard, david lugar, mike john, tony ribas, manuel ferrara ~in that order~ i didn't like mike john movies before but i think they are getting better. you may want to check with red light district's founding company platinum. their movies and directors are even better.
I can't really speak on David Luger but I recently saw Two in the Seat 3 and every scene besides maybe one featured all hot girls but I do agree the same positions were repeated over and over again with nothing innovative until Steve Holmes and Manuel Ferrara fucked Taylor Rain at the end of the movie.

With RLD no longer being the new kid on the block, it's to be expected that some will start to complain when they've watched dozens of their titles being very similar, repetitive in style. They get bored and want something new. But I think it's a valid complaint that some directors have a little to be desired taste in their selection of talent and are perhaps more interested in quantity then quality. Personally, the only slide I've seen with RLD is the selection of girls, and only from certain directors. Everything else is still top notch.
As far as RLD district traveling across the world and delivering fresh faces, how is this different from any other studio? I'm always impressed with studios like DVSX and Zero Tolerance delivering new, fresh girls. On the otherhand, I find I'm disappointed with Plat X selections of female talent in nearly half of their titles. How many times are they going to cast a girl like Sandra Romain?
Ya know, I probably have watched more stuff from RLD than any studio in the last year or so -- I'm sure I've bought at least 30 of their movies. Most are not "keepers," but they deliver what I would call a high rentability factor: There's the hot girl you haven't seen before, getting it raw and nasty! Teagan -- coming right up in Cum Swapper Dripper Not a Dodger, ya know who cares? It's Teagan. And she gets it in the ASS, Daddy! (I think, anyway). Anabolic fell behind the curve and RLD ate 'em alive on that front. Maybe Anabolic is about to catch up. But now PXP and Zero Tolerarance and DVSX are in the mix, too. Competition. It's good. With new cocks on the block like Mike John and Jake Malone, who knows what RLD could step up to: Throat Gaggers 6 looks positively apocalyptic! Yeah, the movies are inconsistent, and there's always those same fucking couches, and not all the girls are BEE-YOU-T (for Teagan)-FUL, some are just fuck pigs in for the quick kill, God love 'em, but every time I look I've got 6 or 7 new titles to choose from -- and all by different directors with slightly different casts, and that's cool. I'm thinking other studios may have higher batting averages, but they don't take as many swings.
I have to agree with the King of Porn. RLD is on top of the game and will be for a long long time. They shoot the youngest, dirtiest girls around. They have something for everyone. You can't please all the people all the time. RLD is first in quality. I used to have long conversations with King D and king D Jr. how to improve the DVD quality.

One thing I've noticed about Red Light District is that they don't take pride in their box covers, I think they look rather sleazy compared to Evil Angel and Wicked.

Sanders, come on now, Red Light District has awesome Box covers, how can you say that RLD doesn't care about there box covers,I would say that RLD is one of the only Gonzo companies that shoot box covers and don't just use a production still, please Sanders take another look.

dion, red light was better when they didnt use 'top male talent'. red light was better when they really used 'fresh new girls'. red light was better when they had one new video a week when every video counted. just my opinion
Hey Mr. Dion. I really have no problems with the number of release RLD puts out every week. The more you put out the more money I'll spend. I for one cannot complain about the females use in the videos cause 95 percent of them are really gorgeous to outright knockouts, plus they give us what we want to see. The only things I would suggest to improve RLD videos would be to add a little more variety of the sexual positions, a little more missionary like Jonni Darkko does, a few more unique positions like Rocco and better anal creampies like the one Laura Angel did in Evil Angel "Rocco True Anal Stories 5" which was outstanding. Otherwise the boxcover front and back are not a problem I suspect for me and many other cause nobody until now has said anything. Best wishes.

I like the RedLightDistrict boxcovers. I recently rented "Bang My White Ass" from Acid Rain with Missy Monroe on the cover. Of course, she does not do anal. I've also rented tapes where the boxes have pictures of scenes that aren't actually in the tape. With RedLight, the only deception I have ever noticed is the times when they will put "Introducing" in front of a girl's name who is not new at all and in need of no introduction. Otherwise, I like them and for the most part it seems as if everyone is going the RedLight method of picking out single girls for the covers.
Didn't they used to do that in the golden age? And I'm sure RedLight aren't the only ones who were doing it a couple of years ago when they first started but now...seriously...tons of companies are doing it.
