Is there anything to distinguish 'download to own' films burnt to a disc from those that are simply copied disc to disc? If you had a collection of films on blank discs...would the authorities need proof they weren't pirate copies? How could they tell? [Link] |

And, again, they're not going to care either, unless you start doing something illegal with it (like selling copies, posting it to internet sites or, believe it or not, trying to pass it off as your own content on some phony pay site). Downloaded movies, btw, will be significantly smaller in file-size than original DVDs. You'd be looking at 300 to 500 MBs (for a downloaded movie) vs. 3 to 8 GBs (for an original DVD). Also, your downloaded movie would likely not include all the extra goodies that come on DVDs (i.e. trailers, behind the scenes, photo galleries, cumshot recaps, etc.). |

There are also numerous (porn) websites that offer their videos (scenes) without any DRM and/or protection. In that case, it might indeed be difficult to determine whether that video was downloaded legally or illegally. |

Having 2-3 9GB DVD ISO images posted isn't rare for popular releases....this includes direct digital reproductions of all the extra's, trailers, etc that is contained on the originals with no loss in image quality. Download and burn and bootleg...that's one way the pirates do it. Alexis Texas as Buttwoman, with scans of the box cover art, was posted on Usenet 3 days before it shipped to me from Adultdvdempire. If I wanted to, I could have spent the 3 hours to d/l and burn and had an exact replica. I didn't, I never will, but the days of "crappy rips" are waaaay behind us now. Download speeds have made the need for compressing and removal of the extra's a waste of time now. Seriously...it's faster for the pirates to rip the whole movie, extras and all, than it is for them to rip the main feature and convert it into DIVX format. |
