first off i want to say that i have nothing against gay people since i know some people here may accuse me of that. the point of this topic is i always was baffled as a straight guy how clueless other straight guys are as to how much easier it is for gay men to get laid. it's funny to me because you always hear about how hard gay men have it (and don't get me wrong i understand they have many disadvantages in society and many people esp. religious idiots don't like them) but you never here about the shit straight men have to go thru just to get laid or a blowjob when if you're gay and just average-looking it's so much easier. a big moment for me was watching a documentary called "gay sex in the 70's" on HBO a few years ago. it was just unbeliveable how easy it was to get sex if you were gay. literally after the guys would talk for a FEW MINUTES they would be having oral and/or anal sex together. can you imagine a guy doing that with a girl without PAYING money for it. this was so infuriating watching this documentary cuz it made me realize how shitty straight men have it when it comes to getting laid when compared to gay men (and for that matter women, who also can get laid much much easier than straight men but that's a whole 'nother topic although the dynamics are very similar).

Sure, so what? It isn't like people will think less of them, nor is there any confusion or doubt about what each participant desires and is getting from the sexual encounter.
In short, two guys fucking each other is never going to lead to nine months of carrying a baby or a lifetime of parenting. They can afford to be carefree and... um... gay.
Now, go ask a big name heterosexual male movie star how hard it is to get laid.

I guess I don't get it, what is it about getting laid that is so important? Sex for me isn't about "getting Laid." Sex for me is a lot about having a connection with the person I am intimate with. That is just me though, help me understand why it is so important to get laid?

I said movie star, Opium, not male porn performer. There is life outside of porn, you know.

basically it's the same thing. a male movie star has many many advantages over a regular guy just like a male pornstar has many advantages, so obviously they can get laid alot easier. i still don't get your original point.

I just dont think you are looking hard enough! ;) as for the original topic though - gay guys get laid easier because guys are not as prudish as girls and are more likely to get down to business rather than beat around the bush. Plus you also have the girls who think a guy should wine and dine them and treat them like a little princess before they give it up. And then some women wonder why men think we are all prostitutes... ;-)

Well, there you go. This isn't the "Do Hetero Guys Realize How Easy Gay Guys Get Laid" thread, it is the "Do People Realize How Hard It Is For Opium To Get Laid" thread.
Yes, we do realize how hard it is for you to get laid. We also realize that you can fix that all by yourself. In fact, the prescription for fixing your self is widely known, already. So, may I suggest your time would be better spent by following that prescription, rather than complaining about your not-ready-for-prime-time status?
I assure you, millions of men before you have done it. You can do it, too.

Original poster: there are TWO people (or at least two people) involved in having sex together. They both have to want it. It's not like the guy is entitled to sex and he just demands it. The other party is a person. She's not withholding something that belongs to you.
Vanity said:
What is this, the I Hate Women thread? I don't live in your world.
Prude: A person who is or claims to be easily shocked by matters relating to sex or nudity.
Deciding not to have sex with someone is rarely a matter of prudishness. Casting women as either virgin or whore doesn't help. As long as women bear most of the risks, parents will send girls messages to be careful, and if they are smart, the girls will be careful. Look at what happens to the ones who aren't.
There is no prudery or princess-ness about choosing to have sex your way instead of some guy's way. I am not making the assumption that guys are normal and women are some deviation from normal. Women want what they want. They get to choose how they live and what they are comfortable with. And they might not want guys who think they are shirking their obligation to "give it up."
It's her 'it,' and she gets to decide.
Two people involved, not a person and an 'it' that he's after. Girls, own your own 'it,' I say. Don't be pushed or pressured.
The guys who are objectifying women are easy for girls to spot, even in high school. They are the guys who go out with their friends to get some action. Afterward, sex is something they and their buddies got. It's not something they did with a girl, it's something they did with their buddies, going out to 'get some.'
So if a girl passes on you offer, just move on.

hardware: valid point being that the probability for gay sex ( i.e male-on-male ), for someone looking to 'hook up', is higher that than that for hetero sex ( i.e male-on-female) from a males prospective. Of course my observation is not scientifically based ( like a study or such), its based on reality. Sort of like its easier for a woman to get laid than it is for a man. But that's another topic.

I see. I thought that I addressed that in my original post.
Opium said, basically, "Girls are hard to get into bed; gay guys will fuck at the drop of a hat", to which I replied that two guys fucking each other is never going to lead to nine months of carrying a baby or a lifetime of parenting. The point being that it isn't the sex, it is the consequences of the sex that you have to take into consideration.
I brought up the male movie star because our society puts them up on a pedestal, and a successful male is a worthy mate; in biological terms, anyway.

Lindi.... Just so you know, I am a woman myself, and I am only going by what I see from other girls I know around where I live, which is perhaps a bit different to where you are from. Most girls where I live (South Africa) are definitely prudes or use sex as a weapon to get what they want. My own friends do it quite often.

Hi Vanity.
I understand. There are a lot of different ways for people to interact. One of them is guys who want to buy women, and they want pretty women. So, for the guys, they want pretty only. For the girls, they want money only. That's a deal that they make and consent to. The guys know which bait to use, and so do the girls. Fair enough.
When I see some old rich guy die and leave his money to a gold digger, and his kids contest it, I say, fair enough. He knew the bargain he was making, and so did she. He got what he paid for, and she earned what she got.
But I don't live in that world. The average guy isn't trying to buy (and control) a woman. And I really don't know any gold diggers. Okay, I know one girl who liked to have a little fun going to the most expensive revolving restaurant bar specifically to meet guys with money, but, whatever. She liked to have fun. The guys wanted to have fun with her.
Opium set me off, though, because he starts by saying he has nothing against gay guys, but continues on about how shitty it is to have to deal with women. And really, there are a lot of different kinds of women, and none of them needs to deal with that kind of attitude.

the point i'm trying to make here is that women and gay males don't have to try and "do it" they already have privileges that heterosexual men don't have, but for some reason it's never talked about. any disadvantage/oppression that a straight male has he's supposed to be quiet about it and not complain but women (and to a lesser extent gay men) can complain and it's not taboo at all. for gay men though there are double standards also e.g. when you hear about hate crimes against gay people 95% of the time it's against a gay male and yet you will never hear a lesbian acknowledge that.

of course, because as a female you don't want to hear about your privileges and how much easier you can get sex and how you will never have to pay for it.

Please, do you really want to talk about privilege?
Are you going to have 3 kids by the time you're 20, with a long gone deadbeat dad? Are they going to find your body out in the desert if you leave a bar with the wrong person? Yeah, women never pay for sex.

Yes, I do know the point you are trying to make and it is, in fact, pointless. That's why nobody bothers to talk about it.
As lindi and I have tried to convey to you, sex is not a risk-free endeavor for women, so it behooves them not to jump in bed at the drop of a hat, even though a number of them still do. If nature hasn't coded caution into their genes their mothers have certainly tried to hammer it into their brains.
You're supposed to be an adult, and adults are expected to work for what they want in life. You seem to think that those who don't have to are the lucky ones; you should ask yourself why so many of them are FUBAR.

This is a long adolescent rant, pretty much all over the place about the oppression of straight males who lack all the privileges that women and gay men have.
Calm down. Women can get sex so easy, they even have to worry about being gang-raped. Really. It's a trade-off. It's like complaining that you are the middle child and don't get all the advantages of the oldest child (staying up late), or all the advantages of the youngest (spoiled). Or you are the oldest child, complaining that you got pushed a lot harder than the middle child does (your parents are way more relaxed now that you've been through teething and potty training and everything), and you don't get to stay up as late as your same-age friends because your younger brother is too young to stay up that late and the parents think it would be unfair to only let you stay up.
Or complaining that you live somewhere with hurricanes, so you envy the lucky people who live where there are only rattlesnakes or earthquakes.
You have the place you have in life. Make the most of it. I guarantee you that other people are not living in glowing fairy tales.

What they are all saying is you can't separate the act and risks/consequences. Even if you treat it as a commodity (which shouldn't be), all commodities have costs and risks. This isn't vacuum and every action has a reaction or consequence.
Let's look at this quantitatively and just look at biological consequences.
Even in good safe sex practices, nothing is 100% effective. So lets say if a average girl uses a condom or birth control pill, and has a 85% or even 95% rate of effectivity, for every 100 sexual encounters/times there will be pregnancy/conception 5-15 times (per 100). Let's look STDs, regular intercourse (from what I've know and read) say women are much more likely to contract an STD, compared to male partner(s).
So if this is the case, logically, there are several risk/consequences that increase the more sex that she has.
As for pregnancies, child support is only a relative recent procedure/law, so pregnant women are ultimately stuck with offspring, including the $10,000s to $100,000s it costs to raise a kid to an adult. Therefore, if this is costly and it is, why would women increase their number of offspring and show no restraint? Unless you have unlimited resources, very few do, sex costs biologically, socially (I didn't even bring up) and economically.
To ignore the consequences of sex is naive.
Our sex education programs are depressing.

ok i get it. so when women complain about double-standards (which we have to hear about constantly in media, on TV, and in politics - usually from the liberal side) it's accepted and justified but when men bring up the sexual privilege that women and gay men have over heterosexual men it's an "adolescent rant"

I have to get some sleep.
Meanwhile, tell me you're over 22.
My friends and I had all the same griping, in reverse--a long litany of complaints about men dating and how unfair it was, and blah blah blah, until we were somewhere around 18, maybe 20.
I've never heard people much older than that go on about it.
There's no conspiracy. Women aren't men. They shouldn't aspire to be like men. They are already just fine the way they are.
ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Oh yeah, and there's no sexual privilege.
Until the last 60 years or so, women bore all the burden of potential pregnancy. They still are the only ones to be labeled sluts, and are much more likely to be raped, etc. There's no magical rosy cloud that women get to live on.

yes there is sexual privilege. i'll give just 2 examples (there are many more but i don't feel like writing an essay). i've heard numerous times over the years how much money a decent-looking woman can earn by taking of her clothes for a few hours a week (AKA stripping). how many guys can do that unless maybe your in tip-top shape and even then i think it's very hard to earn the money women make stripping. then there's escorting where women can earn 200-500 per hour (on average, some charge even more from what i've read) for having sex with men. now of course if the men are 300 pounds and ugly that's probably going to be horrible, but i have heard how women can be very picky with who there clients are and how they look, etc. so let's just wrap up on this topic: if you are a decent-looking to attractive female you can earn several hundred dollars per hour by having sex with men you enjoy having sex with. i know alot of men that can earn money that way.
second example is actually from an interview with a pornstar i heard a few years back. to summarize before she got into porn she was easily able to have sex with numerous guys and girls (she was bisexual) and was saying how much she loved sex, anal sex, sex in public, etc. and how much fun it was. i know alot of guys who can just go out and have lots of sex like that with random hot chicks and not pay any money.

Now you're off onto the subject of jobs, where there has always been a premium for having a penis. Or can you name any female presidents and vice presidents of the United States? Women might be able to make $200 an hour or whatever, but not many of them are making $60 million a year CEO pay. That's not based on merit. There's a Penis Premium.

Opium, disregarding the non-sequitur, you probably don't want to get into professions and occupations (which is only a fraction of the sex IRL). Women have had it really hard with equal pay and lots of women don't get the same salary/wage even though they have the same qualifications, skills/certs, experience as male competition.

Fucking a woman in the ass won't lead to any of that either. And plenty of straight men would be satisfied with anal/oral sex. I can't count how many times I've seen a sexy babe and thought to myself what I wouldn't give to spend an hour eating her pussy and ass.
The OP is right. And I can tell you because I know. I don't know how many times I hooked up with some random man in my area after 15 minutes of chat about what we both wanted. We'd be fucking within a couple of hours usually and both of us would have our balls drained by the end of the day.
I haven't done that for years but I bet it's still just as easy. If not easier. Any average man who's ever tried to sex women in any way, shape or form knows it's like trying to break into Fort Knox.
If you have a shitty job, relatively bad looks and nothing really special, you will literally go gray waiting for sex from women. You might "get lucky" a few times but there's a reason they call it that.
A lot of women just plain don't like sex. I know you're thinking I'm a sexist for saying it but I believe it's absolutely true. And I really don't think it's because of anything men are doing wrong. Women couldn't do anything to me to make me hate sex.

Opium, just a thought, have you ever tried being friends with a girl or do you just try to get laid? Girls can see through that pretty fast if you just want their pussy. Masturbation is a great tool, I don't need a girl to get me off, this has been my game when it comes to dating or "getting laid" I can have some pretty mind blowing orgasms getting myself off, my hand can be tighter than any girls pussy, straight up. Or their ass. Pretty much the only thing that gets me off with a girl is pleasing her and her mental state of mind. Other than that I enjoy the snuggling and watching movies and other stuff.

BTW do you identify as bisexual random and how many times did you have sex with men compared to women you had 1 night stands with, if i can ask?

to be honest it's not so much about if a girl will sleep with me right away or have a serious relationship, i'm more trying to just make/discuss a point that for some reason never gets talked about on TV or anywhere else about how much easier gay guys and women can get sex. you always hear them complain about shit but you will NEVER hear them discuss their privileges. and for the record i'm in my mid 20's.

Well, first of all, I agree that it's easier for a guy to have quick, even anonymous sex with men he doesn't know than quick sex with some woman that he just met. I just don't agree that men have to "go through shit just to get laid or a blowjob." And I don't think there's any reason to be infuriated. I don't think that straight men have it any shittier when it comes to sex and dating than women do.
Women complain about being pressured, worrying about their safety, and about being lied to (even stuff like, "You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen," puh-leeeze), etc. I can remember times in high school and college when I needed to take a break from all the crap and avoid guys for a short while, just to think straight.
I don't think there's any privilege or oppression involved. Sometimes men don't get what they want, and sometimes women don't. Six of one and half a dozen of the other.
And I don't think that men are supposed to be quiet about it and not complain. They DO talk about it, and they DO complain. They just usually mature and get over it. Women have no obligation to want random sex with the dozens of willing guys lined up at the pool hall. Guys have no obligation to marry the every girl they sleep with. Whatever. There's going to be some compromising going on. Nobody is going to get exactly what they want.
Life is not fair. (If that's your point, we all agree).
And, by the way, there are straight guys who get laid whenever they want without being rich or anything more than ordinary-looking.

^ I already told him that - he ignored it.
Opium,
Gay people's sexual behavior is not a privilege, because neither you nor anybody else has the authority to dictate sexual conduct to them. You, along with every other Dick and Jane, have the right to try to persuade people to your way of thinking, and I, along with every other Dick and Jane, have the right to ignore you.
The fact that women approach relationships, including sexual relationships, from a different perspective than you do doesn't make them privileged, either. It makes them individuals with equal rights.
Women want what they want for reasons that are good and sufficient to them. You want what you want for reasons that are good and sufficient to you. What's the difference? Should women relinquish their desires in order to meet yours? If you think that they should then why shouldn't they demand that you relinquish your desires in order to meet theirs?
Maybe you should do what most people do, or try to do, which is find a mate who you share many wants and interests with. That way both parties are more likely to get what they want. Makes sense, doesn't it?
Complaining and fault-finding is not the path to winning friends and influencing people, nor is it the path to getting laid. You can go to the damaged goods section and abuse all the women your heart desires, or you can treat a woman as an equal in all regards and have a relationship that actually means more than just a sexual relief valve and a salve to your ego.
Either way, it is your call, and the 'privileged' conduct of others is irrelevant.

first i just want to ask if your female or male hardware, since that could be the reason you have a blind spot regarding the point i'm trying to make.
technically gay people's sexual behavior is a privilege actually. since they are of the same gender they have much more in common and have an advantage/privilege over people of opposite genders. the way in which women approach relationships with men in itself doesn't make them privileged but the effects that it has on men is harmful is the point i'm trying to make. if they were more open-minded/casual/perverted when it comes to sex, it would balance out the dynamics related to how gay men interact with each other sexually.
"Complaining and fault-finding is not the path to winning friends and influencing people, nor is it the path to getting laid. You can go to the damaged goods section and abuse all the women your heart desires, or you can treat a woman as an equal in all regards and have a relationship that actually means more than just a sexual relief valve and a salve to your ego"
the above paragraph pretty much confirms you are most likely a feminazi. you label "complaining and fault-finding" me pointing out that gay men and straight/lesbian women have sex more casually and easier than straight men. as far as treating a woman as an equal you assume i'm not doing that (again proving you're probably a feminazi). every relationship i've been in i treated my girlfriend as an equal, in fact most women i've dated have said i was the most caring sensitive guy they ever dated. my point once again has nothing to do with how men treat women, but how women treat men in regard to not being the same as gay men and lesbians when it comes to having sex. there is a huge double-standard when it comes to sex for straight men, and they are almost ALWAYS at the bottom of that double-standard. the only area where women are at a disadvantage when it comes to casual sex is when they are called "sluts" or "whores" for having alot of sex and being promiscuous, which i also think is bullshit and sexist.

Opium seems to have missed two important points of the doc that he watched (I've seen it as well):
1. This was in the 70s, 30-40 years ago. The gay men I know certainly sleep around but not to the extent of these men decades ago.
2. Massive numbers of gay men died from AIDs following the 70s.
That he takes from this that it was "so infuriating watching this documentary cuz it made me realize how shitty straight men have it when it comes to getting laid when compared to gay men" is simply mind-blowing in its self-centred ignorance.

Oh, and did he seriously call Hardware a feminazi?

PS. Guys who declare on internet forums that they're good looking are most definitely not good looking.

As this one's going in the nowhere circle fast, I'm closing it down.
Opium, you're showing remarkable flexibility lodging your head up there, but you might want to realize when it's time to move on in a thread before you're helped on your way out the door...
