I had an interesting discussion with a friend regarding porn stars life before they got into porn. He pointed out that there are lot of discrepancies in their background before they start porn. He was referring to Jordan Lee, as well as many other porn stars.
While I agree this may be true because I have detected numerous discrepancies in their interviews (i.e. Julia Ashton), where their backgrounds didn't seem to be straightforward.
Do most or all porn stars fabricate their background (family, school, etc.) when they go into porn? If so, why?
If I was doing porn, i certainly wouldn't want accurate details of my private life made public, so I would certainly make shit up in interviews if they got too personal...
I think RLD Fiend has probably hit on the main reason for these "discrepancies" but I will add this: I remember once hearing a comment from a (non-porn) actor who remarked that interviews tend to always ask the same questions and after a while you get fed up with repeatedly giving the same answer and so start to lie just to keep yourself interested. Doubtless the same is often true for porners.
To be honest, though, I can't really see why it is something that bothers you, Panama: porn is fantasy after all, it's always worth remembering that.

Why invite someone digging into the past for old high school pictures, ex-dates, or better yet someone sticking a microphone in Mom or Dad's face asking, "Did you know your son/daughter was a porn star?"

There's another factor that you might consider if you take into account more than just interviews. Take the bios for example. Girls have posted here at ADT that some of the bios posted at various sites are NOT what they put down on the release sheet.
Websites and studios can also be guilty of 'gilding the lily' to whatever purpose they deem desirable.
Look at them sometime. You'll find something like "this hot San Diego honey ..." for a girl that is a Hungarian or Czech performer visiting the states.
Yeah! Vivid put down that my favorite food was chili cheese fries.
ME!!! EAT THAT!!!??? OH EM GEE!!
I think Vivid also said I was from Boston. Oh yeah, right! Someone else screwed up my birthday and instead of 9/3 it's 3/9 - and that spread around the net. So more than half the bio sites I see say March instead of September. Nobody has my birth year right (hehehehe, I'm not going to correct any of them, some have me down younger than my kids!) I've seen bios that say I have a male cat (nope, she's girlier than me) and that my cat's name is "Pussy-O" - fer sure! NOT! My baby girl would spaz out if I called her that. I have different numbers of children (from none to 4), I been to different schools, graduated and have degrees, own businesses, and just all sorts of random stuff.
Have I ever lied in an interview? I don't think so, but sometimes I've avoided giving answers to questions I am uncomfortable with. Most of those questions are icky and aren't anyone's business unless I specifically want them to know.
P. T. Barnum once said "A sucker is born every minute." This is indeed true for fans who don't pay close attention to the porn stars' bio over time.
One example is Bridgette Kerkove's bio. She claimed she met Skeeter when she was 15 and has a daughter from him. Recently Skeeter stated on this forum that he met her when she was 19. Thus, who's telling the truth? This is what I mean by discrepancies!
Perhaps they meant to say "golden and alabaster skinned" . Thanks for clearing that up, Kimi. Knowing for certain that you are indeed an eager, waif-like vixen and cuddly sex kitten is most reassuring. Keep on purring.
But who really pays that much attention to the bios anyway? As it's been said, they're often complete fabrications made up by the studio/photographer/magazine. Pick up an English wank mag and you may well find a 20 year old girl from Brighton called Zoe, studying to become a barrister. Only she's actually a Danish model in her late twenties called Trine. It's nothing new. The Internet has just made it easier for stalkers^W fans to catch.
BTW, what's the deal with the blood types in some Japanese bios. Are some blood types more sought after than others by your garden variety Japanese stroker? Am I missing out on some great secret to identifying the truly mind-blowing lays? Do O+ women give or get better orgasms? Should I look for Rhesus+ or Rhesus- if I want great monkey sex? Are big boobies A+ or A-?
There is a belief that blood type affects personality. In making conversation one might say "hey baby what's your blood type". Japan_blood_type_theory_of_personality
as one of my friends pointed out im way open with some info. its the people that go and try to look up how your website is registered or join your gym that are a problem
A lot of that does indeed have to do with the "interviews" you see in a lot of places being made up. This was a problem even back when the internet was just starting and magazines made up for the bulk of the reporting.
On several occasions I have asked a girl a question based on an interview only to find out she was never interviewed by them.
I know Jordan Lee really didn't like to answer personal questions so she probably left those blank and someone filled in the answers.
Wait, you mean they don't all wish they could fuck each and every one of their fans? They don't always bring a girlfriend along to thank a guy for a good fuck the last time? That holding out on their boyfriend means only blowjobs? Damn!
oh i have been asked to say i was variety of ages and i have also been asked to talk about my non existant (as of yet ) kids i have been told to say i was a bank manager and an amatuer web model before
that's okay. hey, its porn. its all about fantasy.

Speaking of which, Don...in my earlier request for Anna Nikova's whereabouts (in the industry, that is), I came upon this URL in a web-search on Google.
As you see it, they note "...right off the boat, hot little blonde from RUSSIA..." Of course, I just sighed with a "WTF?" knowing full well that this chick was one of the babes on the BrunoB (a Montreal, PQ based porn site) page.
Can you pull out an ADT shirt next time? Have the guy dress up like a magician. Better yet, a bunch of shirts for various porn sites, the arms tied together.
As you said, we pay to see her perform. Insight into her personal life past, present and future not included. If you ask her silly questions, you get silly answers. That's only fair. Can't see what this has to do with a fans' self-esteem.
i have so many of these that people give me and being classy like i am i never turn down free clothes, but as i went through the tool booth in meatholes shirt i thought hmmmm maybe i should hit up a t shirt sale. but waste not want not so im cramming all the shirts in my hiney now
When I first met Kami she said not give her my address because she would stalk me. And look how that turned out :) She later gave me a sticker that reads "Are you stalking me? Because that would be super!"
I found a bio on me claiming I was British.... which is pretty funny because I'm from Oregon! It's definitly true that some "facts" are just completely made up by other people.
I don't really mind either way. I don't have a problem with people knowing my birthday or my hometown or whatever. If they want me to make something up, I'm game, but otherwise I just tell the truth about what I'm up to. I'm a horrible liar anyways... I just end up a giggling mess.

I think you have it backwards. A fan has so little self esteem they care about all the answers to those wierd little questions and wants them to be true.
I pay money to watch them perform. The rest is just sales fluff.
Most fans of a particular performer care about her/him as human beings, and want to know at least some things about their off-camera life. If not, then why get upset if they contract STDs? Or if they die suddenly? Or are we now going to argue, a la Bill Clinton, what "fan" means?
Caring about others means not wallowing in sexual insecurity and not giving into callousness and cynicism. Therefore, it takes some self-esteem to care about the answers to those so-called "weird" questions.
It means NOT acting like someone whom the anti-porn crusaders can point to and say, "You see, the male porn fans don't care about the performers, they see them as interchangeable whores!"
Porn star fan clubs exist to cater to the classier side of fandom, but some of the performers don't have a clue. That's why saying "No comment" is a safe and sensible way to maintain honesty while drawing a line in the sand.
I would say a 'fan' that is concerned about the little minutia of a performer - porn or mainstream - is lacking in so many things. This is not the same as caring about the well being of a person. I find many fans of mainstream performers in need of real therapy too.
