To be honest I have no idea. I've never really watched the "not as pretty girls" Why would I, I'd rather watch a stunner getting fucked (although you've got me curious)
It often seems like it, but I think the most accurate answer is "sometimes". It's certainly true that a girl with runway model looks can phone it in with a lukewarm performance and get away with it. Especially when it comes to oral sex. Average lookers can't really pull that shit and expect to make a name for themselves. But on the other hand, I have seen plenty of lousy performances from less attractive women, there's nothing rare about that.

I think the answer is MOSTLY YES. Whenever you get a gorgeous girl who is willing to bring it hardcore, she will be snatched up by some contract writing company and that's that, she is screened and filtered. Take Kara Tai or even Kobe Tai for example, phenomenally beautiful Asians willing to perform anal on a hardcore level. Both of them were seemingly snatched up, told to do nothing and collect the money, that is my opinion on how it works. I don't think so. Like many things in life. Some girls have more talent than others. Their looks is irrelevant since some really hot girls have doen intense work while average lookings one's have done piss poor.
I think the ugly girls have to try harder to sell DVD's and internet subscriptions. Belladonna is an example -- she is skanky as hell but she does almost anything and sells DVD's. Dana DeArmond is very hard looking but she is well liked at kink.com for what she is willing to do. A pretty girl such as Kimi Lixx or Julia Ann will have fans no matter what (although they actually do a good job of fucking in their movies, so they may not be good examples).
Sorry, but many girls are on these boards and I cannot, will not remind them of what their agent and their rates already tell them every day. It's a left-handed compliment to be sure, but more than once I find myself repeatedly viewing a scene by one of the lesser names and giving the girl on the box cover one look and never going back. But I thought Maya Hills was a pretty as it gets and did everything you could imagine, so this is not exactly a hard science. And as another poster noted, there a million bad scenes by a million mediocre looking girls as well. It just came to me when I was watching a movie where the pretty, pretty cover girl disappointed me once again, but while her never-seen-on-a-box-cover co-star burned the place to the ground. No, I believe there are plenty of bad performers among all of them. I think that is a common thought though. It's a falacy IMO though. If a female has a certain look or wanted body part, it's clear to me that many know they can get away with bad performances or show up with bad attitudes and still get hired the next day. Add a no-list afterwards, that basically blames the bad scene on the other person, and you have the perfect out. Of course a lot of it is up to interpretation anyway.
