Since I was young, I have been collecting porn...in the beginning, I bought VHS tapes and recorded from porn satellite channnels. I started to cut away the parts I didn't like, but this was a bit difficult on a VHS tape. When I got my first DVD recorder with HDD, I got into serious editing. I began recording my old tapes on DVD and the editing increased heavily.. Nowadays, I can't watch a whole act without being disgusted...imagine a georgous, lovely looking hottie appearing in a scene, then when the male guy appears, I think 'oh, no!' when I recognize he's one of those who can't fuck a girl without slapping, spitting and other disgusting doings.. I find myself doing more and more editing. I'm kind of obsessed about it I think. Even the DVDs I buy, I have to edit them and burn them again. The parts I don't like: 1. Slapping. I find it annoying like hell. The typical newer male pornstar fucks for 30 seconds, then slaps her ass, another 30 seconds, then slaps her ass again...etc. Often the fucking itself looks like a speed contest, like rabbits do...yuck. And the slapping goes on with slapping tits, faces...it's just not my thing! There are a few of these types, they slap, spit, mumble and moan throughout the entire act... 2. Spitting. It's just sooo disgusting. Sperm is OK, spit is NOT! When I see David Perry spit into the mouth of some stunning beauty, I could just kill him! Removie things I don't like: Feet licking, inserting fingers in vagina then putting them in girl's mouth, sucking and bj on dildo/strap-ons, slapping breasts and buttock as well as face, inserting 4 fingers inside girl's mouth, kissing girl continuously and intemittently after throat fucking girl, spitting on mouth/face and other parts of body, fetish/bondage scenes... Straight Feature DVDs (only kind I will watch) have a lot of stuff I filter, particularly when I'm "creating" a Couples Edition of a feature title. Step one, remove the entire prerequisite lesbian scene. In additon to the items mentioned in Handyman's original post, I remove what I refer to as the "butts & balls" frames. Don't know why anyone wants to stare at those close-ups. I filter at the frame level, so I often shorten scenes that become boring, the most common that come to mind is the end of a sex action scene and the male is desperately strocking himself and the female is sitting there with her tongue out and waiting, waitng, waiting... Just for the hell of it, I often filter out the few frames that show the male tearing the condom off and throwing it aside before the 'pop shot.' I think it spoils the mood. Sometimes I even filter out less than a second of film time (less than 30 frames) to eliminte a word or two of dialogue. As for anal, I filter out all the frames that show that specific action. I recently created a Couples Edit of the feature Public Affairs. The anal scene was an important aspect of the plot, so I filtered that scene so it would appear to be doggie style action rather than cut the whole scene. With today's editing software, the filtering appears seamless (if carefully done) not only with whole scenes but with short segments within scenes. Another filtering approach I apply is with what I call mixed scenes. Cutting back and forth between two separate action scenes. I separate the frames and put them back together and have two separate (and complete) action scenes. I'm surprised how much my filtering reduces the length of a feature. Normally about 30% reduction for titles produced prior to 2000. Most of those produced after 2000 filter down by 50%, so I've become very selective in obtaining those titles. With 10% - 30% reduction, the plot remains intact and the movies doesn't offend or disgust the viewer. In the case of a 120 minute feature, it becomes a 90 minute feature which is the 'normal' length of a feature movie anyway. [Link]

Quickly realizing that I was going to need a whole lot more disk space than I had, or cared to acquire, I settled for copying my favorite scenes onto my computer, instead. In the process, I did end up unweaving and recombining some scenes that had been interwoven by the editors. I never could stand that, anyway. Since my collection is largely gonzo, there's rarely a plot to be ruined, so I figure no harm, no foul. BTW, I'm constantly amazed by the weird ways some of these DVD's are authored. Some editors appear to put in chapters whenever they awaken from their drunken stupors. Others put in chapter breaks at specific intervals, regardless of whether or not a new chapter is actually warranted. Not surprisingly, Evil Angel is the gold standard. [Link]

But I would just record what I deemed as HOT @ the time. I don't like to say "I hate" this or that. I depends on the girl really. I even made my own "cum-shot tape". I have a few of the VHS comps around but I haven't seen them in years. Today though, I don't have the time or the technology to do it w/ DVD's. With sites like Videobox.com and Payones.com you can make custom clips. So the powers that be understand what we do to our porn and have cut to the chase. Then you don't have to fast forward and rewind through tapes that are about ready to snap anyway and can go directly to the scene you want. The problen still with DVD recorders is machine overuse and faulty discs that can lose all information. That's the one benefit of recording to tape is when the tape runs out, it just runs out and nothing is affected. If you use up all the alotted time on discs or have too may pauses or edits, sometimes they don't finalize and bye bye. [Link]

As with most things, quality counts. That's the one benefit of recording to tape is when the tape runs out, it just runs out and nothing is affected. If you use up all the alotted time on discs or have too may pauses or edits, sometimes they don't finalize and bye bye. Click to expand Not if you use a PC burner and DVD creator software. You can add a menu for your compilations and at a functional level they are equal to commercial compilation DVDs. [Link]

As soon as I test the filtered version, I burn it and put this back-up DVD in a file. He file holds about 175 DVDs in paper sleeves. That is a LOT of hard drive space (+800 Gb). And you can play it on your DVD player DVD quality is much improved and you can get top quality DVD blanks on sale for around $.50/each (4.7 Gb). Or for about the same cost/Gb you can store those files on a facory re-con Lacie portable. LaCie Clearance Hard Drives I have five (5) of them and none has ever failed. Because of my familiarity with WinDVD Creator Version 2.0B014.530C14 (2002) (I've been using it for years) that is my filtering software of choice. I didn't like the changes they made to newer versions and I'm very familiar with this version. It also has a great advantage of being able to open XXX.vob files, which are essentially MPEG II files, so they can be taken right off the Commercial DVD with no need to convert them. Pinnacle Studio (release 10.7 -2006) fixed a lot of bugs in their release 9 and I use that program for filtering frames, but it's not very good for re-authoring (putting back together) the file set for burning the filtered DVD. It's fast and very easy to use, but will not open XXX.VOV files, so a conversion step is often required. It has some features, like color correction, that can be useful when working with old VHS titles that producers have just burned on a DVD with no regard for quality. See my comments in thread Seduction Of Lyn Carter (1974) Middle of thread I show some frame color comparisons. I have some other software that I use for video file processing, but not at the frame level. As with anything of this nature it takes a while (practice) and some determination (you know it will work, you just need to keep trying) to eventually succeed. One caveat. Some of the newer "change view" video files cause filtering problems depending on the implementation of that feature. There are "work arounds" but essentially not worth the trouble so I just usually eliminate that feature in the re-authored filtered version. One client was actually pleased with the results since doing that restores the FF function. Those DVDs only present a problem when a client asks me to do a filter on one. For myself, I rarey even bother with a DVD film that is not a feature and that has been produced after 2000. [Link]

Just filter out every frame that shows spitting and use the various transition/seque routines available to 'stitch' the remaing frames back together. It can be done smoothly and appears seamless. Sometimes an added benefit is that it reduces the length (in time ) of the BJ action. [Link]
