To start off, this isn't some kind of "anti-porn" thread, i watch alot of porn and i'm not planning to stop. This is just a thoughtful discussion about what we have to accept might be a reality, and shouldn't dismiss it just because it's too horrific to even imagine really.
I've had this thought going through my head now and then, and just found a scene that really sparked it: It's not common, but there are a few sisters in porn. And porn isn't something exactly usual for a career choice, we all know that there are probably a majority of women damaged in some way in the business.. low confidence, abuse, torn up homes, addictions.. there's always new stories revealed from ex-stars. But what are the odds that two women grown up together end up in this business, and usually doing some rough stuff. I just saw a scene with Sandra Romain's sister, Alice, who just as the before mentioned does double anal. Which is something even less common. I mean, come on, who's thoughts doesn't go right away to an abusing father, a molesting uncle, a prostitute mother or something like that? What are the odds that two perfectly happy women would consider their assholes being taken advantage of in such a way. Off course it's a fetish or a exhibitionistic side from some, but in the same family, to expose themselves like this with nothing behind it, who is that naive? I'm just bringing up the Romain sisters as an example since they're both so extreme in their performances, but there are more confirmed sisters in porn.. Mia and Ava Rose, Whitney and Britney Stevens, Mya and Misty Mason (half sisters, same father), Luci and Nyla Thai and the list goes on.. not to mention all these twins performing together.
And i'm not accusing in any way, i'm just speculating that there might be something more to a performers past than most people are willing to, or allowing their conscience, to admit.
I myself keep a close eye on these things. If there's some performer coming out and talking about how they were miserable and hated doing porn, i won't watch their scenes anymore. The same with performers that kills themselves, it's obvious they weren't living the life they wanted to.

Fair enough.

True, but it doesn't mean that porn was the problem. After all, porn is a job, and not everybody's life revolves around their job.

Is everyone on this forum in denial, or is it just a bit out of everyone's comfort zone to talk about these things?

^ Do you feel the same way about other celebrities? For example, were you able to watch The Dark Knight? Can you stomach watching movies or stand up comedy performed by people who have drug problems/depression? etc. I'm not saying it's exactly parallel, but I think asking yourself those kinds of questions might get to the heart of your general ambivalence (and by extension society's) regarding women and sex work.

pornography wasn't sex but fantasies of an impossibly hospitable world

Certainly some percentage of performers come from abusive backgrounds, but that doesn't remove their own agency or the legitimacy of their decisions, including their decision to make porn. As GGG says, many performers, writers, etc have a wide variety of issues including abuse, drug and alcohol problems, etc. If you threw out all the records of musicians with these issues you wouldn't have much left.
As for your specific example, it seems clear to me that Sandra Romain is a very strong woman who is very much in control of her life. Her motivation for the extreme sex acts seems to be largely financial, I suspect the same is true of her sister.

My sister was interested in shooting for solo girl websites but never ended up going through with it. I believe that she mainly wanted to just because of the quick money.

Wow,could it not be that Sandra is a very sexual person who has excelled in porn movies and her Sister just followed her path into porn after seeing what Sandra got from it,wealth (i hope) and a platform to perform and act out all her fantasies on screen and get paid for it and travel the world too,not everyone holds the shame factor about porn and i hope that is why the Stevens Sisters chose porn too and from the UK the Grace Sisters.

Off course it's possible, i'm not ruling that out. But everyone is really quick to dismiss these things to be a possibility, it's always talk about how it's for the easy money, they're exhibitionistic etc.. from my experience in my personal life, girls that let their bodies out to anyone in any way have a past of some kind of abuse that have made them believe that their only worth are in pleasuring men and exploiting themselves and their body. But like i said, just talking from own experience of what i've seen. And i might be wrong about these women in porn, but don't be so naive to dismiss it at once just like that.

Mod Note: Presumptions of this kind serve no purpose here, this is a fans site where we encourage a more respectful approach to the performers that participate for our pleasure.

No, people here respect the performers within the porn industry and contribute to a pornfans forum in line with the etiquette expected at this site, I suggest you do the same.
