I've been ordering most of my stuff on the net the last 2 years.I've noticed the quality of dvd boxes even from the largest most respected companies is going down the plastic seems cheaper and boxes warp and the little spool inside that holds dvd disintegrates easily.I buy cheap real movies from Big Lots and if I don't really care for them swap the box out for my best adult stuff.I've protected most of my best stuff like this.Has anyone else noticed this?
^I can't speak for porn movies because I stopped ordering them with plastic boxes a few years ago. I found the shipping cost was cheapear when I simply ordered them in a simple dvd envelope and the art work. I do believe that the plastic box for mainstream movies feels cheaper but I don't know if it's the kind of plastic they use or they really are cheaper made.
Yeah I do that to^ I draw a little so I flip the movie paper over and draw a xxx cover on the back of real movie artwork.Sometimes I can find dvds for like 25 percent of real price without buying box and artwork.Thanks for commenting.
Keep buying those cheap DVDs from Big Lots and use the cases. Also buy the white disc sleeves then put up to three extra titles into a single disc DVD case. So many of these porn titles are easily grouped together. Big Lots should also still have those DVD/CD disc holders that hold 100 or more.
Being out of the States most retailers (all actually but I use few of them not all) ship my DVDs without the boxes just discs and covers , so I can't tell.
If you're into home theater technology: The best way to protect your DVDs is to only use them as a backup. I have a huge stack of DVDs - the discs without cases would be a couple feet high - but I copied all of them to my computer. Computer is connected to an LCD big-screen. Copy the DVD image to the PC, and if you have it configured properly, you can double-click it and it plays just like you inserted the physical DVD. Granted this is a hobby in itself - time and money of course. If you're not into home theater technology: I say ditch the plastic DVD cases. Even good ones have a tendency to scratch the discs upon insert or removal. Get some soft case binders from CaseLogic and be done with it. You won't have the cover art, but you will still be able to look at the DVD itself. bsl

Case logic will scratch dvds long storage wise. After years picking up and putting down CD or dvd books.I know have lost many good dvds and cds this way.Having them in cases in a closet is the best method I have found.
I don't think it's limited to adult, I think that in general cases are now made lighter (and less durable). I picked up those X-men and Iron Man anime DVDs and the cases were pretty flimsy. In my recent purchases, only blu-ray cases have been solid. Twitter: MonstarPRDigital Playground
But you know you are not supposed to keep those DVD's for years? You have to buy the Special Edition, the Ultra Special Edition, the Super Ultra Special Edition, the Gold Super Ultra Special Edition, etc and then throw the previous version away! Jacco
