At Erodvd.nl I noticed this message under the DVSX label:
So are these really European versions and what's the difference with the American versions?

If you look real closely at the black sticker in the cases of the new releases at EroDVD, they say "Not For Sale Within the US". However, the older titles don't have that sticker.

So, as well as telling us whether there are really Euro versions of DVSX titles, I'd like to know if they all have corresponding Euro versions or just the ones with the stickers. If it all titles, I will definitely be buying a second copy of "Truly Nice Tits 5" (which doesn't have a sticker) from EroDVD.

I'm curious as to what it means, too - what could be missing in the US versions, if Euro versions do exist?

Typically, it would mean fisting or golden showers.

Would be cool if we could get a confirmation on this one from the people from DVSX and I'm sure most people would rather buy their DVSX movies from Erodvd rather than some American store selling the European version.

I'm surprised the ladies from DVSX never mentioned European versions of their movies, you would think they would promote this stuff in order to sell more movies.

Wouldn't it be simpler to ask Aline, she sells the DVDs she could possibly check?

Same goes for recent PXP releases (at erodvd.nl).
I've got a few European PXP releases.

What's the deal with this?

But I doubt she really watches every movie that comes in and I also doubt she can say what the difference is between the American version and the European version.

Besides, I thought it would be more simple to post this question here since people from DVSX post here. I wonder if they haven't seen this thread yet or don't want to answer this question because it could hurt their sale in the US.

Just how mush longer are the 'European' version when compared to the 'US' version?

This may provide some sort of indication as to whether it's worth buying.

If the 'Euro' version are only a few mins longer, makes you wonder how much 'extra' is included.

This is deja vu all over again. I mean I had asked a question to of DVSX before about one of their movies and nobody replied to it either.

Why on the Erodvd.nl site some of the DVSX DVDs have a round black warning label and not others?

I was wondering the same thing. I could not read what was written under the black label.

And I didn't even post in this thread and jinxed it (companies usually don't answer me or do after a year or so).

Alright, since we can give up all hopes of seeing someone from DVSX respond to this thread will someone volunteer to buy an european version and report back to us?

None of them look really suspicious.

I would go for Double Parked #8 because I'm wondering if Selena Silver or Ariana Jollee do something that's not allowed in the US. Of course Truly Nice Ass #6 also looks interesting especially because of Katja Kassin.

Hey all,

Due to the numerous requests for an answer to the question, it's been decided that I reply.

Initially co-owner Javier C, also Head of Sales, requested that this thread not be responded to, because we were unsure of what they erodvd site had. After some investigation, here's the final word on the whole situation.

There are NO DIFFERENCES between what's sold overseas and what is sold here. The box covers occasionally change but they have the same content. The reason why those stickers are on the boxes is because we want to keep track of which foreign companies we sell to, and to help prevent bootlegging. That is ALL. I hope that this explanation finally ends all the discussion.

I appreciate the response (it saves Sbando Boy spending more money for the movie) eventhough it doesn't make sense. I mean you guys already knew that you don't shoot scenes for europe so why not come out right away and say this?

I will e-mail Aline and ask her if she can remove the message because in my opinion it's false advertisement. I mean people will buy it hoping to find extra stuff and will end up with nothing.

A few days ago I sent Aline (EroDVD) an email, asking: whether these were true Euro version DVDs, whether they were made by DVSX or by a European company like Nighttrips, what kind of extra material might be on the DVDs, and what the meaning is of the black stickers.

I received the following reply from Aline:

"These DVDs were produced in America, however they contain scenes that make them illegal for the American market. The extra material can be fisting or piss, but keep in mind that rough sex is also not allowed in America. So that is why the stickers are there."

Was there perhaps some miscommunication between DVSX and EroDVD.....?

Maybe he still should.. to eliminate all doubt.

I am not happy with this "explanation". What kind of brilliant mind can come up with the idea to paste "Not for sale in the USA" stickers only to keep track of DVDs? Wouldn't it be more logical to make a label with some kind serial number or something? It makes no sense whatsoever, unless they want to fool customers into believing there's something extra 'special' about those DVDs.

Okay Ramsey, to answer your question...there was a lot more going on to this than you might even understand. However, I will try and explain it for you.

We obviously DO know that we don't shoot "harder" scenes for overseas sale only. There was no confusion whatsoever about that. What took so long for us to respond is because we were wondering who these EroDVD people are. We do not sell to them directly, and were trying to figure out who they were buying from. I am quite honestly rather surprised that you would suggest that there was "false advertising" involved. There is no false advertising involved WHATSOEVER. What there IS a problem with, however, is translation. We never made any claims to be shooting harder scenes for our European customers. I strongly believe that the European customers SERIOUSLY miscontrued the meaning of the stickers that simply read, "Not for sale within the US." We do not shoot fisting scenes, or scenes with any type of human waste in them AT ALL.

Furthermore, for nudity, I have no idea, and neither does Javier, who this "Aline" is. I repeat, we do not sell to EroDVD directly, and if they looked at the product that they are carrying they would see that there is no fisting or pissing in them. The stickers are NOT there for that reason.

The reason the stickers exist is because we have had many problems with foreign companies bootlegging our titles. We have also had many problems with foreign companies buying our product from us, and then reselling them back into the US for cheaper than we're selling them for, so they can make a profit by undercutting our prices. I would hope that anyone would understand that we are taking measures to protect ourselves, and not try to say that we are promoting "false advertising."

I have requested that this thread be locked, and if anyone has any further questions, (since I see a lot of the posters to this thread are European) I strongly urge you to approach Javier and Alex in person at the Venus Fair show in Berlin this October. They would be more than happy to address any of your concerns.

That makes sense Sunchen, at least to me.

I used to live overseas and I bought most of my computer software from a store that I had done business with in the states. Many times the software arrived with a sticker that said "Not for sale Outside the U.S." or "Not for sale Outside the U.S. and Canada".

Was the software purchased outside the U.S. different? In most cases it was not. The producers had distribution arrangements in the U.S. and they also had distribution arrangements outside the U.S. They were simply trying to maintain the distribution arrangements and not have either market undercut the other.

With 'some' software there was code that the U.S. government didn't want sold overseas, but those are not the items I am talking about. Besides, it was a silly law that didn't work. As soon as the government said don't sell that overseas, there was a scramble and it was available to the overseas market even faster.

So "Not for sale within the US" is very different than "Banned in the US".
