First off I have worked with peep show dancers for a few years and taken on talent who turned 18 that day,I'm not entirely sureif you could pool it all but from m experiences I think they change is often immediate and typically bad.
I honestly dont think alot of girls think about what the hell they are getting into and how it changes them.
I see some females start looking at men as $$$$. which in general or working is fine but they start using it in thier personal life and wonder why they fill unhappy.
Iseen some good also. I see the empowerment they get.Often it overwhelms them but sometimes ifthier ego doesnt get out of check, its a reat benifit to them in general.
Others become afraid or angry.I hate this when I see it.The gir usually turns very bitter and thinks everyone just
wants to use her.Its sad to see a young vibrant women lose her faith and hope in people.
Dont get me wrong i actually admire what some of these women can do and in the end im a whore for my job i just get fucked in diffrent way.
But why is it that most females cant handle it?
Again i know there are some that can I guess I'm just trying to understand why.
There are some girls that I have worked with that I would take a bullet for and thee are others thatare so twisted and sad inside and so angry and they dont even see it.
I'm a socially ignorant person. I trust and like everyone.
Maybe i'm looking for ways to help these girls.
I dont know.
Anyway whats your whats your thought on it all?

This may sound a bit soppy but I think sex and love go hand in hand, its what most people want, girls more so. I can quite imagine how girls can get messed up by having sex with men that they have no feelings for.
I just guessing here but I think you'd have to be a very "tough cookie" to be a girl porn star.

Well. Girls definitely change after they've been doing porn for a while. I have no idea why really but it's not hard to see the changes if you watch their first scenes and then you watch some scenes after they've been around a couple of years. Just when the transition happens and what causes it I guess is anyone's best guess. It's probably different for every girl.
I don't think I'm going very far out on a limb to say I think there's probably a strong correlation between negative changes and the fact that most girls are going to probably have some dealings with some of the more unsavory people in the business. That and the resulting bad experiences. I would guess that it's incredibly difficult not to be changed by a tough business like porn.

It's probably moot for us to surmise. I would like to hear from some of the female performers on this.

Kami's insight is always interesting, but since she is gone you can only glean anything from her posts before she went on hiatus from ADT.
Unfortunately, most of the other performers that post tend to have little depth to their posts, as it's mostly self-promotion and the typical porn smoke and mirrors.

It all depends on your attitude. If you can do things for yourself and forget society's view that sexually liberated women who enjoy the act and enjoy multiple partners are somehow damaged goods or shit like that. Its ok for guys of course...but much of society still holds on to that double standard with all their might.
Personally it hasnt changed me much ..except for maybe feeling even MORE free and uninhibited. I love sex and I love that people like watching me have sex! And once I cast aside the "good girl" vs. "bad girl" BS about sex that people tried to ingrain in me all my life and started doing what I wanted to do instead of what everyone else THOUGHT I should be doing I was a much happier girl!

Cameron its deeper than just yourself too and society.I'm a daddy to a beautiful little girl and I hold high reserve for most adult stars but wether or not I think performing for money is ok its set you in a limited mind set.I want my little girl to be known more for her not for her pussy.
I can look beyond that as her father but I dont think other people would or could.
I dont know.
I'm sorry if I have offended anyone.

Since you put it that way, yes. I think someone who was brought up to believe there's something fundamentally wrong with sex and or sexually liberated women would have to change in order to do porn.
You ask why they can't handle it. Well, like you said. Some can. I'm not sure if women are inherrently asexual or not but many seem to be. I think in most cases, it's probably a little bit of biology and a whole lot of moralistic BS that causes so many Western women to feel so much shame if they actually enjoy having sex. It's really difficult to get past mental barriers that had their foundations laid before you even learned how to read.

Nerd...just because someone does porn doesnt mean they arent apppreciated for other things. Many of us have other jobs or skills that serve us very well. This is a choice we make for a portion of our lives..not what we will be know for forever. Yes. it will always be a part of us,but that doesnt mean its the only part.
And frankly to suggest otherwise is a bit offensive and uninformed.

I agree with this part.
In fairness, however, let's consider how many women remain in loveless marriages for the money.
As long as it's truly a women's choice, I think most women can separate love, sex and money better than they are generally given credit for.

But I feel compelled to ask why. What I mean is why is it what most people want? And why would one just naturally feel that love and sex go hand in hand?
Maybe I'm wrong but those aren't necessarily conclusions I would come up with on my own. How much of this is a result of the psychological conditioning we all (or most of us) received growing up and how much is just natural?

Sex is our second strongest basic instinct. If it weren't for sociological and psychological conditioning we'd be screwing each other's brains out.

Yes. But I would argue that conditioning has unforeseen and unintended consequences. Look at the differences between what is seen as acceptable in America and what is seen as acceptable in other parts of the world, for instance. Americans (generally) are incredibly prudish and intolerant in spite of the voluminous amount of porn that we produce.

It may well be a result of "conditioning" but just about all the girls I know are much more interested in marriage and babies than screwing around. I get it nearly everyday myself, "when are we getting married, when are we having babies".

I will have to concede that women (for the most part) seem far more interested in having children than the sex act itself. I suppose it's a result of that cold rationality. A child needs a father. Therefore, if you wish to have a child, you need a husband. If you have a husband and a child, the nature of the arrangement precludes you from promiscuous sex.
What I'm not sure about is whether or not the desire to have children is innate within all women or whether it's encouraged by said conditioning. I mean, must every woman really have a child? If she doesn't want one, is that wrong? Is it going against female nature to have sex for the fun of it?

Rp, of course women want sex for fun but I think that they would much sooner it be with one partner. Its well documented that men just want to fuck everything they find desirable. Maybe a small percentage of women feel the same, these ones can easily adapt to working in porn, whilst the rest struggle. This is what the OP was probably getting at with his question.

what about the sex acts performed behind closed doors?
negative or positive, don't the private sex lifes of performers have bearing on their career choice
maybe
hypocrites take swings at sex films by assuring everybody that all the ladies were sexually abused and had their arms twisted until they were in front of cameras
but this is only a mythological truth
you may noy believe this, but cynical, misanthropic, bitter women exist plainly outside the realm of Sex Films.

Indeed. But I'm always questioning things. It may be well documented but I don't think the resons are obvious. IOW, why is it this way? Is it supposed to be or is it an artificially induced situation?

My opinion...
The personal growth or demise of a sex performer depends on the girls attitude and mind frame going into the job. You have to be very strong in order to be fully successful in this business and it is definitely not for everyone. I feel every career has the potential to change someone. This one in particular goes without saying. Positive or negative change is individual and so it goes both ways. For me it has made me sexually uninhibited and empowered.
Sex and love have never been the same thing... they can just work together to strengthen a bond. Sex is used as a personal fulfillment and desire that most human beings need in their life. Even if we have sex at work with guys we don't always like doesn't prevent us from recognizing intimate sex with a loved one. In fact it can in some ways enhance it and make it better.
Keep in mind too that opinions and views on sex is culturally formed and can be highly influenced. The U.S. in particular is very puritanical and shapes sex in a negative way. If girls are brought up thinking this way, getting into this business can screw them up royally. So back to my main point, it very much depends on the girls frame of mind when entering the business.
Sorry for the tangent... I tend to do that sometimes.

Like Kinsey, I think people tend to exist on a continuum. Most people desire some form of monogamy, emotionally and physically. Some are more suited to it than others and some aren't suited to it at all. On the one end of the spectrum you have people who are truly monogamous. They spend their entire adult life married to and in love with one person. At the other end you have people who are genuinely polyamorous. They have multiple partners, enjoying and cherishing each in their own way. In the vast middle you have the average person, who would like to have that one special someone they can be with, but they have their desires, which they may or may not act upon. That you could want to fuck more than one person doesn't negate the love you have for one individual. One can have two equally compelling urges that may or may not be in synch with each other. Your desire for intimacy may be balanced with your desire for monogamy or, to some varying degree, it may not. To complicate things, there is family. Not everything is about the desires of two people. If you have kids, their emotional and material needs are important as well. In fact, if you're a good parent, you will value the happiness of your children more than your own and may sacrifice your own desires for them.
Whether this is due to conditioning or biology or some concoction of both hardly matters. It is what it is, whether you live in America, France or Burma. Basic human needs don't change very much, which is why they have been described, with equal eloquence, by writers in Ancient Greece or Renaissance Italy or Elizabethan England or Feudalist Japan or Czarist Russia or Belle Epoque France.
So, the adult performers who tend to be the most emotionally and physically satisfied are, most likely, tilted towards the poly end of the scale [they are also, most likely, well grounded individuals to begin with - with a minimum of baggage - who can put up with the rigors of show business]. The ones who are not, simply aren't suited to the lifestyle or the work. I think this applies to both male and female performers. Regardless of how natural you think it is for a man to spend his entire career getting his dick sucked by hundreds of women [and believe me, I would love spend a year of my life as Peter North], I'm guessing there's an emotional toll that such a life takes.
Anyway, those are my two cents!
