what is the deal with all the hate for the between the leg shot during a dp? Most of the people on this board seem to hate it. Directors hardly ever use it. But I really like it. Its the best way to see all the action and the guys can do a much better job of getting the pistons going. They dont have to half fuck and stay open for the camera - instead they let it rip. I think its the best shot in porn. What do you guys think?
There is nothing wrong with the shot you've described. But I would prefer to have a long shot rather than a close-up in that position. Because close-ups take the human touch out of sex and make it seem mechanical and unemotional.
ou can have both - that is the point. Directors dont even include the between the leg shot in most dp shots. I have even seen movies dedicate to the dp where they hardly use it. It does not make any sense.
Each one you gentlemen has alluded to a subject that is dear to my heart, that is "open for the camera', "Posing', "mechanical and unemotional close ups' that makes the sex just a function of the genitals. If we could just get the camera to move around the action and show it from different angles. Of course include the between the legs shot, the studs are shaving their balls for us now. The thought has occurred to me that I'd like to see the stuff they leave on the cutting room floor.
+1. DP's shot this way are my favorite types of scenes, except I do like the side shot. You can see the girl sandwiched between two guys. It's hot. To me, the penetration close-ups are unnecessary take up time that could be spent showing the girl's reaction to what she's feeling.
I agree that the camera should get back so that we can see the whole motion at times. What I dont get is the absolute disregard for the between the leg shot. It is almost never used. Why not use it and mix it in?
I like the closeups myself I like to see and hear the woman getting hammered especiall from that angle. The performers always look uncomfortable and awkward when they do the side shots.

I like a cameraman that gets down and dirty, but moves around the subject instead of posing the performers all the time. Using two cameras would be superior, triangulating the scene and editing for the best possible shot at the time. One thing that gets missed most is the reaction shot. You get an incredible sequence that has a woman going batshit crazy, and the camera is behind the guy's ass pumping. We need perverts with better instincts shooting our porn.
What you guys are posting about is one of my pet peeves in porn! I hate it when the director is having the stars fuck for the camera instead of having the camera film the fuck. I also agree that 2 cameras are far better then 1. The chance if missing a tit flopping or her eyes rolled back or her ass cheeks getting ripped apart are is far less.
I posted a comment meant to be tongue in cheek, saying that each shoot should have a horny fan on set as technical adviser. The more thought I given the idea the better I like it. Give him a direct feed into a quiet room, and a microphone with the ability to reach the director at anytime. If this was the case at the beginning of mass produced porn the "man cum face" would have never become a staple in the biz. New unpaid fan for each shoot. Someone behind the camera should have a hard on.

I prefer seeing a fullshot with the girl between both guys. When a girl is DP'ed she has crossed the threshold of true slutdom!!! I really don't like the close up shots I like seeing the girls reaction to being slutted out on camera. Just my opinion.
I like the two angles, I love seeing the penetration from between the legs, it makes me feel as if I'm fucking. The full body shot I feel more like a voyeur who gets to see an amazing DP.
