My dilemma when I accepted taking over Down The Hatch was that I knew there was already a huge following where the standard was set my Mike John, who I personally consider the greatest pornographer around bar none. I was very nervous what the reaction from DTH fans would be. It's not like No Swallowing Allowed where I feel I have a tremendous amount of leeway in terms of creativity within the bounds of sex because it hasn't been defined previously by other directors. I've had the burden of taking over open lines from previous directors and try to improve on them. Lewd Conduct and Spring Chickens were easy as long as the sex was hot. I had to redefine Un-Natural Sex simply because I don't have a performer like Erik Everhard to plow past these girls. With Sweet Cheeks, I tried to shoot it better. With Oral Consumption, I had to pay homage to Khan Tusion first before I developed my own interpretation for the movie. It took me a while after the exodus last year to agree to direct. After all, you're taking the lines of legends and I knew a shitload of people in the industry couldn't wait to see me fall flat on my face. Now that's a scary proposition. Nobody taught me how to shoot camera except all the cheap Internet shooting I did before. I just tried to get what I could from some of the greats in the business that I worked side by side with, Tom Byron, Rob Black, Khan Tusion, and Tom Zupko. Cumwhipper, I like your idea but consider it unfeasible. I don't like there to be editing cuts between popshots and swallow. I would literally have to kill 10 minutes while a girl is cooking the eggs and then watch her gobble the whole thing. I mean, what would I do with all the dead time? Maybe the girl could have another girl cook the eggs on a very high heat, so it only takes 2-3 minutes. DTH #13, more than met my expectations, and immediately stepped up the tempo, with what I thought were some well conceived ideas. The side alleyway blowjobs (in the weeds), were stunning reminders of instances, when opportunity can arise with a hot, nasty, willing participant, but with nowhere convenient to get off. Whether or not it was the intent, The scenes capture all too well, the "pants around the ankles", hurry up desperation, that can occur in the nearest secluded shrubbery. Staci Thorn was perfectly cast, and adorned, to fulfill that particularly nasty role, as were all the lovely starlets who graced this picture. Looking forward to DTH #14!
