I hope this is the correct forum, and I hope I'm not out of line with my question.

Because I am not the most tech-savvy guy out there, the answer to my query might just be staring me in the face and I'm not smart enough to see it.

I have both Reget Pro and Download Accelerator Plus download managers, but I cannot find the correct configuration / option / utility in either of them to enable me to download jpg images on some web sites.

For example, I'd like to use my download manager to download the jpgs on this site:

Neither one of my download managers is set correctly to download the jpg images on this particular page.

Does someone know what setting I need to select?

Please remember that, when it comes to tech knowledge, I'm roadkill on the Internet superhighway, so be gentle in your reply, explanation, and techno-speak!

The Operating System of my computer is Windows 98; my browser is IE5.5; and I have high-speed Internet cable.

Welcome to the forum.

I have run into a few sites like that. I think the images are only stored at the site in the bitmap (.bmp) format, and will download as that.

What I do is download it anyway, then after downloading I load the images up in my photo editor (should be a default program that comes with Windows). Once it is in the photo editor, then you can do a 'Save As' and you can select the type of file you want (.jpg).

.jpg of course will save much disk space over the .bmp format. This works for me.

I use Quadsucker , and just successfully downloaded all of these images in jpg form . Now , I'm no great shakes when it comes to technical matters so if I can do it with this program that probably means anyone can . Quarsucker

Are Reget Pro and Download Accelerator Plus worth getting , do you think ? I've never really dabbled with anything else .

Hate to be the wet blanket, but depending on how you use these tools, the copyright status of the images, and the site terms of use, what you're doing could be considered copyright infringement.

Plus, since ADT is often the victim of image suckers, site rippers, and bandwidth leaches, I don't think this topic is appropriate.

Good point Saki.

I don't use any download Manager, and all the sites I have been a member of 'forbid' them in their terms of use.

I just deal with the individual pictues when I download.

I used one of these progs on a paysite (Hegre archives) and they promptly suspended my account for using it. When I complained they reinstated me and pointed me to a link where it spelt out the rules of the site and stated that such programs were forbidden. I actually got a bit nasty at this point and wrote them a rather aggressively written reply because the page was only accessible once you had already subscribed which I thought was a con. Anyway, they banned me again, presumably on the strength of my email

stolen content is a big deal and hardly confined to the adult side of things. leeching entire sites for 1-day trial fees then hosting them in the ukraine or something is exactly why they had the written policies that sir noel plum protested. they were right to ban you, since there's no way of knowing that you're not going to just mirror expensive proprietary content in some developing nation.

for download managers, leechget is as good as any. httrack website copier should handle downloading all the images on a page, as well as some mozilla/firefox extensions. if there's a warning/blocking deal when you right-click, it's just a silly blockable script you should have disabled anyhow. oh yeah, don't steal shit and host it in israel.

Lee O - you can really download the images on this site with your dl-mangaer? That's interesting, because the thumbs don't link to the pictures but html-sites.

Superman601 - The site you've given is an exception, I think. The thumbs link to html-sites which include the fullsize pictures. Therefore you can't download them directly with a dl manager (maybe it's possible with Lee O's Quarsucker)
The pics are hosted on a server you need www.excellentpictures.com as referrer to get access. If you use these settings, you can for example download the pics sarahmichellegellar.0001 to sarahmichellegellar.0025.
I also use Flashget - a really nice tool. You can start batch downloads from every site I came across so far (for some you need to know some tricks, though).

There is no way to enforce copyright priviledges in the digital world... none. There's always a way around it.

1) right click save Picture As
2) right click save Target As
3) print screen, open photo editing software, paste, crop, save as
4) download managers
5) create a fake web page with a link pointing to the content you want. Open the page, right click and save target as.

and so on, and so on
