I added something to the reply-to-message code that will help me diagnose the problem. For those of you not able to reply to someone could you copy/paste it into this thread for me? Otherwise I'd have to figure out how to log in as the people that are having troubles and I'd rather not go through the effort. If you're not able to reply to a message you should see the debug note instead: It will appear something like this: DEBUG NOTE: STATUS-authID-username The status word will tell me what's going on. It should be one of these values: ACCEPT - able to send message to recipient DENY - unable to send to this person for various reasons SUSPENDED - the sender is not allowed to send PMs FULL - recipient's mailbox is full ERROR - database error LIMIT - too many messages per time slot
BTW, I fixed one other thing related to deleted messages. The database routine that checks for a full mailbox condition wasn't counting messages properly. If the sender or the recipient hadn't deleted a message it was still counted towards the 200 limit. There are a little over 9,000 messages stored on the server. I suppose I can increase the 200 limit if necessary. The 200 is the combined inbox and sent items, not just the inbox.
I do not see this. The only thing I see different is this: action: 0 tab:1 above where it says Private Message This is when trying to send a PM to stinkfist and Gore Gore Girl from a forum post. I still get the message "The recipient's message box is full. Unable to send them a private message at this time."
I have fixed the way it was counting messages and also upped the PM box limit to 500 messages. It will notify you to clear out some messages when you are at 90% or more of the available capacity.
^ I have the capability to PM the folks I couldn't before but now I'm seeing this in my own New Messages tab: Mailbox stats: Inbox: 50 Sent: 71 Your PM box is full. The limit is 0 messages. Please clear out some of your messages. There are no unread messages in your inbox.
I'm almost afraid to ask (because tinkering with it seems to break it) but would it be hard to make it do a popup when you have a new message? I generally catch mine the way it is but it's easy to miss.
I'm looking to do it a little bit like Facebook using some HTML5 background messaging features. The idea is to integrate the new message notification in any tab or window hosting a page from ADT. So if you're reading a review, reading the forum, or composing a message it should let you know. So there's a little more involved than a simple popup but the effort will enable member-to-member chat features in the future because they build on the same base code.
I cannot send messages again, only sent 4 pm's and now getting this i have deleted most of my messages and have 3 in my inbox and 4 in the outbox. Tried to log off and in again but still the same.
It was working this morning then as soon as i sent 4 pm's it is saying the same thing and i only have about 13 messages in total. Can someone pm Drew and tell him to have a look at it please. Edited by - stinkfist on 11/9/2012 9:35:10 AM
It was double counting messages. So the sender's copy and recipient's copy were both counting towards the limit. I have changed it. Should be better now.
Hi Drew, Sorry to bother you with this but I can't access my messages, this is the message I'm getting: Edited to add: Just noticed I get the same message when I click the message icon in anyone's post. Edited by - Jonny Jay on 11/14/2012 4:02:07 AM
I just got a "There was a non-recoverable database error storing your message. ERR:1" message responding to Wahiner. A deeply personal message declaring my undying love for her. And there was J. and T. stuff too. All lost to the ages.

^ Right. If you hit the "back" button on your browser (after a failed send attempt), you should be able to access the contents of your message, as well. Edited by - Boogie With Stu on 5/28/2013 10:01:37 PM

Just to clarify... I have no first-hand knowledge of any of this. I would never dream of using the PM function. I'm just a harmless ADT newb. (But take my word for it... it works.) Edited by - Boogie With Stu on 5/28/2013 10:10:17 PM
