I just saw a segment on CNN about the downturn in porn sales.
They had interviews with Mark Kernes (AVN), Joy King (Wicked) and Lisa Ann.
According to them production is down 50% and talent is being "squeezed" on
pay as DVD sales languish in the poor economy.
Now I know why the porn market is flooded with compilations: companies are
recycling old scenes instead of shooting new ones.
I guess the saw about porn being "recession proof" is not true.

Not sure how recent their info is. I occasionally check the site analysis tools out there, and it seems that while traffic dipped down quite low back in Jan/Feb, traffic has risen a good amount the past couple months. Granted they're all estimates and traffic != subscriptions, but everyone has to agree that traffic at a legit site is traffic not at a tube site.

I'm guessing CNN needed an excuse to run T&A tease segments to boost ratings.

"Paying for Porn" is becoming an extinct idea. There's so much readily available for free on the internet. I'm certainly no pro when it comes to this, but my guess is the only people still paying for porn these days are those that don't yet know where to get it all for free, those who seek out a product that they can't find for free and those who are just down right honest people.

They are late. CNBC already had a 1 hour report about the biz. Declining sales was one of the topics.

LOL! but seriously, the porn industry like every other job in the USA is going to get hit hard. Unemployment is at an all time high, forceclores thru the roof, not dooms day, but in 4 years the last thing people will care about is either food or porn. Die happy or eat to see another day? Folks we are not even near what the government wants to have happen. My gosh, i know sites that are not bullshit! These are not porn sites, these are sites that people who are sane deicated their every breath to telling how the governments are sickos. Yes politicians are bad, that's old news, but the real suff is on sites i do not get paid to send you to infowars.com This is the truth and who ever does not believe it, next.... Imean really, i love porn and someone said in a store porn is recession proof, thats crap!!! That's like saying cops do not have to wear guns. It will get worst. Not being negative, realistic. I hope this gets feedback i want to see what people say. I want to feel the pulse on people's thoughts. California is BANKRUPT, porn companies cannot get loans for productions Sorry Bgbobxxx to put this on your thread, just thought you were darn funny. Need a sense of humor in this world. I wish Angel from the 80's would come back!! She did great BJS oh ,did she ever!!!!! darn pretty face. Wet dreams are made from her. Julia Ann is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
