Talk about a thread getting off topic. Man --- that was a "bad trip" reading 5 pages of insults and banter back in forth. Can't we all just get a long .....LOL

Back to the topic. IMSO (in my sober opinion) Lexington Steele looks stoned in about every movie he has ever done.

Yeah! i agree with you, back to the topic.
Is it difficult for director make movies with stoned performer. And what about the producer, what they think about it in post-production?

As far as drug use in the adult industry is concerned, I don't mind those who like to smoke bud but anything involving man-made substances that are snorted, smoked or injected are clearly not very healthy.

Definitely agree with you there. Unless you're Donald Trump or Richard Branson, life under industrial capitalism certainly makes you want to drown (or smoke out) your sorrows. And, the sex industry usually embodies all of the worst aspects of the system. It's no surprise that some of the performers want to escape from reality.

It's not only "to escape from reality" but also to help to do a work.
I agree with Jewel De'Nyle "If more people in this industry would treat this business like a business then there would be a lot less drug use and problems."
And Jewel wrote december 15 2006 :"I've seen to many girls whacked out on the hard stuff like coke, crack and speed it's sad and I never understood the thrill of it I guess. I hate using girls who have to get high to do porn they should find another line of work if they cannot handle it. The worst was way back when I shot for Puritan I had a girl pass out on the set and another time I had a guy overdose before I worked with him. I've seen it all and it's sad."

I agree 100%

why can't porn be more like mainstream film making? free of drug use and family friendly.

Fixer Fixer - Quote of the Week!

If you have such a huge issue with pot you might want to steer clear of ADT. Parts of the site are soaked in gooey resin. I was definitely full of weed and good cheer when we decided not to post a sign saying "We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service to Anyone" on the front door.

And I can be drunked from one beer. It's part of my charm. Make it a pint of stout and I'm really fucking charming.

If a bit of weed or coke is what it takes for a girl to act like a wildcat and do the hardcore sex acts we want to see, I don't have a problem with that!

oh woe is me life under this capitalistic tyranny is full of sorrows and anguish... you've got to be kidding me, let me guess ... you blames everything on the inefficiencies of capitalis (the few inefficiencies that there are any way) because of capitalism and a competitive market structure the average United States wage worker earns $17 an hour... furthermore America has the highest standard of living of any other nation... try living under the brutality of Castro or in the stupidity of France with a 10% unemployment rate and staggering inflation... the day the adult industry becomes unionized is the beginning of its downfall... you are sadly misinformed and you've obviously never taken an economics class

No doubt but I'd like to know how widespread amongst GGG girls it is. Because I'm being serious now: I've never known so many girls who seemingly WANT to be totally humilitated and degraded e.g. having their heads dunked inside a bowl of piss (from about 15 guys) about 10 times. Or drinking piss from the bedsheets, etc. Or even a public lavatory. All the while you see anonymous men sniggering and laughing in the background while the girl's getting a bucket of piss chucked on her face. But many girls seem to love shoving other girls' faces into bowls of piss, too.
I understand that many people have many fetishes but surely there are some things which, no matter how horny you naturally are, go beyond boundaries of enjoyment? So I'm just wondering when all these girls are giggling after having a gallon of piss poured over their heads, if it's because they are high on drugs?

I doubt that they are required to take drug tests before doing their scenes, let alone make such information public, so I'm afraid your thirst for knowledge will require more than asking anonymous posters on a porn forum.

I was hoping that Annette would maybe know more about how things work in the GGG world but unfortunately she seems to have left us for the moment.

I watched a TV special about the late Savannah (I think it was an E! True Hollywood Story ) where they claimed that Savannah was on a set one night and abruptly demanded that the producers get her some heroin before she would do her scene. I don't recall exactly but I think they either postponed the shooting or got her to perform without it.
I've never actually watched one of Savannah's movies, though I do have a compilation DVD of hers - in other words most of the time I've seen her she wasn't saying dialogue or stuff like that. It seems to me that in some of the scenes she does seem to be on something or tipsy from having a few drinks, but that might just have been her personality too. Unfortunately we'll never know for sure since she's no longer with us.
Just the other day I was reading an interview with Ginger Lynn Allen on adultdvdempire.com where she says that she feels today's performers are "more professional." She doesn't say anything about drugs, but I have to wonder if she was referring to them a little. Ginger allegedly had a pretty serious drug problem for part of her career before going into rehab. From what I've heard, in the '70s and '80s it wasn't that unusual for performers to use drugs on the set. In today's porn scene, however, it sounds like a performer using drugs might be seen as a liability. Since today they do more things with camera angles, lighting, and other areas of production, you'd think the crew would get irritated with someone who too stoned or drunk to move around and follow directions.
Then again, I've never actually been on a porn set.
Finally, I would hope that male performers don't use cocaine. Look what it did to Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights .

It's hard to believe, but supposedly many of the performers in 70's features smoked pot.
I seem to recall several busts.

Drug use in porn is not just a USA problem. And may be related to with who performers work, and the type of sex acts in the scene. In short, as others have said, performers may need something to get them thru "painful" scenes. Either physical or mental pain, depending upon the performers emotional make-up.
An example of a euro-sexvid where a girl is clearly stoned out of her mind is "Rocco Animal Trainer 10" in which blonde, Ukrainian porn girl, Alissa, is so drugged during her long, long punishing anal scene with big-dicked Rocco Siffredi that she mostly lays there limp, moaning, with eyes wide open, purpils bigger than flying saucers.
Rocco's fans expect to see him rip into girls' buttholes in his scenes, and he doesn't disappoint in this one. It was a turn-off for me, but the rough and painful sex could have been a reason for Alyssa to do whatever drug/booze she was on. Although Alyssa retired the same year this video was released, she did lots of scenes for Private and some US companies. I've seen most of them, and this was the only time she appeared to be stoned.
Finally, from back in the day (and in the USA), 1990s porn star, Jamie Summers, only did one anal scene--with big dicked Jeff Stryker. The video is "Cummin' Together" and at the beginning of the anal scene, there's a shot of Jamie's eyes...and the pupils are huge, and she looks stoned. The only time she appeared stoned in a sex scene in her career.

Efficiency in capitalism means generating a high return on investment. This is not always a good thing. Slavery was once an efficient way to produce cotton. Now it is more efficient to produce cotton by setting up big farms on land once owned by peasants in Ethiopia. This leaves the peasants homeless, many move to the city and live as beggars; some starve to death. But the corporation that produces the cotton gives its investors a very good return on investment, and, as a side-benefit, people like you and me can buy lots of inexpensive clothing at WalMart (which is also run very efficiently).
Capitalism doesn't necessarily mean free-markets. Sometimes, when free-markets are contrary to the interest of Capital, Capitalism will destroy free markets. For instance, under WTO regulations, third world countries have to allow Multinationals to dump agricultural product at below cost undermining free markets in those countries. (The corporations profit from government subsidies, which are ultimately moneys confiscated from people, often against their will, as taxes. Using investors money to influence the political process, so you can extract a portion of tax revenues for yourself is a very efficient means of making a profit. But it has nothing to do with freedom, unless you include the "freedom-to-steal" in part of your definition of "freedom.")
If you think that such anti-free-market forces are distortions of some ideal capitalist system, let me ask you a question. Is it possible, under Capitalism, for Capital not to try to extract profit from the political process? If so, how?
Just to drill the point home: The US Treasury doesn't issue money. The Federal Reserve System is a cartel of 12 privately-owned Corporations. (Since they are privately owned, there is no SEC filings, so we don't know who owns them.) The most powerful of the 12 is the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. All that gold that you probably think is in Fort Knox is really in the vault of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. That big national debt that you hear about is actually money that you (as a tax-payer) owe to these 12 banks. Issuing money and then lending it to the government (and other banks) at interest is a very efficient way to make a profit, but that doesn't mean that private corporations should issue money.
But even if you think private banks should issue our national currency, this is not a free-market situation. These 12 banks enjoy a monopoly on issuing currency. If you were to buy a bank, you couldn't issue bank notes to compete with the notes issues by the 12 Federal Reserve Banks.
As a historical footnote, the Federal Reserve Banks arguably caused the great depression by contracting the money supply. They relaxed the money supply after FDR confiscated most of the Gold in the United States. By the end of World War 2, the US Treasury controlled 90% of the world's gold supply. As I said earlier, most of this gold is now in the possession of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. (If the Federal Reserve Banks purposely caused the great depression to exert influence on the political process, it was not the first time in history that a Central Bank caused a depression to pressure politicians. Almost every high school textbook discusses Andrew Jackson's struggle with the Second Bank of the United States. When Jackson vetoed a bill to renew its charter, the Bank contracted the money supply, causing a panic and leading to a Whig victory in the next election. Still the Whigs didn't gain enough seats to override Jackson's veto, and the Bank's charter expired in 1836.) Again, the Great Depression may have been a very efficient means for the owners of the Federal Reserve Banks to centralize most of the world's gold supply in the hands of their main debtor, but ....
Of course, most Americans think the Federal Reserve Bank is an agency of the US Government. It serves the interest the people who own the Federal Reserve Banks (arguably the most powerful corporate cartel in the world) for us to believe that fiction. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, ABC, even the publishers of college economics textbooks are all corporate-controlled entities. So the free-market-of-ideas is a myth also. Under Capitalism, Capital controls the media, which can literally put ideas into our heads. That's why you equate free-markets with capitalism, but they aren't the same thing. Under Capitalism, markets are controlled by Capital; they are not free.

I don't think drugs in porn is any more prevalent than any other work place. I've worked in a lot of different type of businesses, from restaurants to banks to construction and the coke, pot, meth and prescription shit is all in use there too. It's our culture.

I think you're going to have addiction in any field. Many lawyers are alcholics or do cocaine either because they hate their lives or need confidence to do something. However, I know for a fact my ex did porn for drug money.
