Er, duganrm? Just caught your message about killing the joke thread, and had to raise a few points: <ol>
If you expect younger viewers to stream in here to view Steph's picture, then arguably Steph's picture shouldn't be posted here. Or, it should be posted RIGHT on the front page, with just the pic and a link to "For those 18+, click here to enter Adult DVD Talk!"
Those offended by these jokes would be more offended by the banners, for crying out loud!
The proper way of age-throttling the site would be with an "Are You Over 18?" check before entering the site (not just on the home page - I mean a global check, where you have to answer before viewing any page here.) That really should be implemented ASAP - instead of prepping content for all viewers.
I could care less about losing the thread, but it's a bit ridiculous to check content to avoid offending young users. I thought the whole point of Adult DVD Talk was to set up a place where adults could talk freely about adult-oriented discs. No offense - just my own warped and skewed opinions here... subject to change at any moment... - David Stein

I've been killing threads. Too much testing garbage floating around in the forum. We are seeing a flurry of traffic. Just tidying up a bit. The jokes are a welcome addition to the forum. Thanks for the input about the legal adult acknowledgement page. we will implement it as suggested, just not by tomorrow morning. take a look at the language in the agreement when creating a profile. If someone posts they are bound by these conditions. (i.e. 18yrs., etc.)

sfsdfd I didn't mean to offend you with any of the things that I said. I agree with what you say but I still plan to remove my joke post and most of my other posts before people show up (I want to clean up some of the mess I made). I will readd them in a week and I have a whole bunch more to add. I named that post what I did because it was a question to start with, my question has been answered so I will remove my post and repost it sometime later this week as a joke thread like the one in dvdtalk. Using the younger members was more of an excuse and I appologize fo using it. I will remove my other post. ------------------ -[url=52782]Richard</A
Actually I think I will delete them and then repost them in the right forum tonight with a different name. I hope that you will repost your to. People need to laugh more. Now where did that Santa joke go. ------------------ -[url=52782]Richard</A
duganrm: You didn't offend me in the slightest - just worried me that I may have posted lots of adult stuff too soon! But Drew's reassured me. I do have a lousy memory, though, and I'll instantly forget what I posted in the threads you deleted. So my cleverly crafted witticisms may be lost to the four winds by your slash-and-burn tomorrow morning. Oh well. Wipe all you want, I'll wit more. - David Stein
sfsdfd Repost your joke now. I already put the thread in the right forum with a better title. I admit the title is not the greatest but I am not to imagnative. ------------------ -[url=52782]Richard</A
That will be one of the beauties of this site... The ability to be a bit more racy in our posts. I don't mean going overboard but, it'll be nice to have some jokes and other content of an adult nature without worry about young eyes etc..
Fights in threads were just so much nicer in 1999. Look at sfsdfd and duganrm. These two were old warriors, and their disagreement handled like gentleman. The young un's today and their cheap threats, sarcastic one-liners and insipid insults - these two showed us how a disagreement should be handled! This really was the Golden Age of ADT.
