This type of question from our all time troll Dark KNight is supposed to prove that we really think porn is immoral because we would not approve of our daughters doing porn. Actually it proves that he is fool who allowing anti-incestous thoughts to cloud his moral disagreement with adult entertainment.
You know these anti-porn arguments surrouding porn are getting pretty old.
Since this fool is deactivated, let me answer his idiotic question: No, I don't want my daughter to be a porn star. Why?--- because I don't want to have an image of my daughter sexualized. I don't want my daughter in poses that are designed for men to lust after her. As a dad who is not attracted to my daughter, I would find it revolting to think of her in a sexual way. So I am not really thrilled with the idea of lust toward my daughter, even though it is 100% justified and logical.
So I love you Maxim and FHM but if my daughter is in those sexy poses I will puke. Why? Because I don't like the idea of my daughter sexualized, since I am her father and I would not want to have sex with her much less lust after her. However, if she wanted to do it, there really is nothing I can do about it. Now, we can put an end to this stupid trick question that anti-porn guys(BTW who is jacking off to porn) like Bill O'REily always love to ask.
Thank YOu
BWT Thank god for the fathers of Tera Patrick and Jenna Jameson who clearly had the self control to understand that their daughters are not immuned to lust by other men.

Perhaps the better question is... would you be supportive of your daughter's decision, if she decided she wanted to do porn?

Yes I would be supportive of her.
There are a lot of jobs I wouldn't like to see her do. Night shift at Denny's, Jack in the box, night clerk at 7 11 ect.
I spent a lot of money educating her, so she would have choices and opportunity.
But the choices and decisions are hers not mine.
If she ask for my advice of course I would say no. But if she did it anyway. Then I would still be supportive.

Its funny. Most guys with daughters do not want their kid to involved in porn, but in the same breath they lust after other men's kids in a perverted way.
The human mind is an incredible device.

Even if she posed in a "sexual way", as her father you would not see her as a "sexual object". She would just be your daughter.

I think it boils down to two simple factors:
1) Do you think we have the right to purchase, watch, or make pornography as citizens? Do you think it's justified as freedom of speech, freedom of expression and right to privacy?
2) If your children take a job you wouldn't like them to, or take political views you wouldn't like them too, or even get tattoos or dress differently than you'd like them to, will you still view them as part of your family and treat them with respect?
I think the majority of people support 1) by a good margin. Now, on 2), I think every parent has their limits. But this varies. A parent that put a lot of trust in their child and have confidence in that they will take care of themselves, will tolerate a lot more from them. The people who make the argument from the original post miss the point completely. No parent will approve of 100% of the things their children do regardless. That's not what it is about.

But asking if any given job involves a positive career choice is something many parents do. Is that job stocking shelves at the Marc's really better than the higher paying, higher risk job as a night cashier at the convenience store? Are either of those environments good for your high school student? For the boys who get high paying jobs doing landscaping during the summer, does it facilitate a loss of interest in further education? No matter how much he loves cars, should you encourage your son to pursue training as a mechanic? Should you push your child into college when you know they aren't academically inclined?
Is performing in porn a positive career choice for your female relation?
That's a reasonable question, no matter how you feel about porn. It speaks to the ranking in the terms of positive applications of the job. Most of us would consider our daughter's decision to become a doctor a positive choice. We consider her likely happiness in the future. Will she be financially well off? Will the working conditions be acceptable? Will she have high social status? Will she be able to seek a good partner? Will she be in a position to raise her children? Most of us would be less inclined to view our daughter's decision to become a parking lot attendant as a positive choice. Not because it's a bad thing to be, but because we know it's low paying, without hope of advancement, with poor working conditions, and isn't likely to bring her into social situations where she will meet Mr/Ms Right.
Do I want my daughter to perform in porn? No, I don't. Not because I feel negatively about porn, or because I can't face my baby's sexuality, or even because I don't like the risks the industry would expose her to, but simply because I believe she would be happier with a different choice and I believe she has many options available to her that could bring her that happiness.
If she had a different personality, or different options available, and I believed a career performing in porn would be a path to happiness for her, not only would I support her in her decision, but I would do everything I could to help her have a successful career.

The point is missed. Men don't lust after their own daughters (usually). They're also usually not cool with their daughter's boyfriend telling them he wants to fuck her ass. They don't want to think of their daughter in sexual terms. It's not strange at all.

Amen, Finally someone who feels the way I do about it. I hate when people talk down to me b/c of my career choice. I don't do this b/c I cant do anything else I do it b/c I love it and who doesn't want to love their job. Im happy. I hate when people act like theyre sorry for me like i have no control and Im some sort of sex slave or battered prostitute. I totally agree with this statement ;)

Actually, the real reason why they keep feeling sorry for is because they simply can not believe a woman has the capacity to enjoy doing porn without any traumatic motive. The myth is that only male performers can truly enjoy porn for hedonistic reasons. Every single female who enjoys porn must have been abused or is rebelling against strict religous uprbringing. I absolutely disagree with this theory but many people believe it.

pornography wasn't sex but fantasies of an impossibly hospitable world

I think Kimi's response here is the most honest, perhaps because she actually has a daughter AND a lot of experience in the industry. I don't have a daughter but I do have nieces and I can't say I'd be thrilled if they decided to go into porn as I would hope they may have better options to make them happy and successful but I wouldn't reject them because of their decision and would still support them.

I dont think that is a bad question at all i just couldnt face any female relative of mine doing porn i wouldnt disown her but i wouldnt like it at all i know its complete hypocraisy but i want them to enjoy sex when it is at its best with someone in private even if it is an enjoyable one night stand.
Porn is great but is a fantasy that isnt real some folks seem to have trouble with this concept and remember not all porn is high production stuff their are plent of lowbudget extreme stuff that is totally of putting would you really want to see her face ******* or in mass anl gangbangs? like i said its totally hypocritical bu i just couldnt take it.
Some men cant break the fantasy from the reality Men are a COMPLETELY different animal then women most of the time for women porn is primarilly a business yes there is the odd upsetting of the curve but if any female performers here are truthful i think they would admit this they can enjoy the ride (lol)at times but it is all about money Men on the other hand are more in the great fantasy of endless beautiful women at thier command admit it if they offered you 20 dollars and a cupcake to have sex with the likes of Kimi lixx you would take it just like most single straight men would, a single straight women would almost never do the same.
I liken this debate to that great episode of the Simpsons where Marge is the consumate Liberal in support of Gay marrige but when her own sister is gay and wants to marry her female lover marges true feelings emerge and she is very uncomftable with the idea.

You are speaking of a general theory. However, it seems like many people believe there are no exceptions of women peformers enjoying it primarily for sex. When one female performers contends that she got into the business to fulfill a sexual fantasay, we even reject that possiblity.
So even if in general men get into it to fulfill their fantasy while women it is primarily money, it does not mean many women do it primarily for sex first. It is not like every single women is going out there and stating they are doing it primarily for sex. However, when one does, people don't even want to believe that.
I would also add even when women are doing it for money, we act like they must be like regular women and feel it destroys something they look at as special. Do we have the same feeling for straight guys who do straight porn? I don't think so
