I placed an order with this outfit on 5-25, by 6-9 I had not received the dvds, in spite of my card being charge the day the order was placed. I emailed them on 6-9 canceling the order, and even talk to them on the phone to cancel it. 3-4 days latter I received about 25% of the order, I was not happy, but if I got the product, what the heck!!. Well, no more dvds have arrived, I have emailed them 3 times, now they have changed the way the handle orders to another outfit, and they deny any knowledge of any orders placed prior to 7-1-04. Please be very careful ordering from these people

We removed all DVD Advantage links as soon as we saw that they went out of business, or were sold, or whatever happened. They did not notify their affiliates at all. I'm sorry for any problems people are having with them. I would suggest denying the charge with your credit card company.

Gamelink is a member of this forum. Purchasing the assets of a company and abandoning its obligations is a fairly shady thing to do and not commonplace. Why isn't the owner of the DVDAdvantage assets expected to act ethically towards the customers they have purchased from DVDAdvantage? Purchasers of a company generally assume some or all legal obligations of that company.

In particular if the transaction (e.g. credit card charged) was completed prior to the sale of DVDAdvantage, which it was, and Game Link purchased DVDAdvantages assets, they may be in possession of property that has already been sold. Game Link needs to respond to these issues and clarify why they are not liable to customers if they are in possession of DVDAdvantage assets.

Prior posts have already indicated that Game Link has purchased the DVDAdvantage customer database. Game Link must have been very careful in their contracts if they think they are not exposed to customers with unfulfilled orders.

Clay do you know that Gamelink bought DVD Advantage? I realize there is a Gamelink storefront there but that doesn't mean anything - as many of their affiliates use those storefronts.

A couple companies who went out of business or sold their businesses were responsible enough to inform their affiliates. I think that's the least a company can do.

I just checked the DVD Advantage domain registration. It still has the old contact info and their old DNS servers. This supports the theory that people that owned and operated DVD Advantage for the past few years still own the domain name and have simply suspended their own website operations and switched to a vstore model. (using Game Link's storefront.)

If you placed an order prior to 7/1 that you have not received you may want to consider contacting your credit card company and initiating an investigation.

I received confirmation from Game Link this afternoon that they did not purchase DVD Advantage. All customer service issues for orders placed prior to 7/1 with DVD Advantage should be directed to Michael at mcr@dvd88.com.

Edited to fix email address.

Well, unfortunately, Michael is not answering emails.

I've sent 4 emails in the past two weeks to both mcr@dvd88.com and customerservice@dvdadvantage.com, with no response of any kind. Period. End-of-story. That's all she wrote. Etc.

The emails don't bounce, so either someone is reading them, or they are going straight into the "bit bucket".

It seems our "pals" at dvdadvantage.com are keeping a "low profile".

I intend to protest any and all charges from these guys, since they don't have the courtesy, or balls, to answer emails.
