Three weeks is definitely not right. I usually average three day delivery with media mail, but I only live a state away. I noticed you ordered a Private DVD and it's well known there have been some stock problems with Private titles recently. Was the title you ordered listed as in stock when you ordered?
Jiggy - I don't beleive that our free shipping is the culprit here. The problem is the Private DVDs on your order. Private has been having trouble filling orders, thus we have been having trouble filling our customer's Private orders. My guess is that your order hasn't even shipped yet, probably still waiting for one or omore of the titles you ordered to come in stock.
If y ou want a more detailed answer, email me your Empire user name, and I'll tell you whats going on with your order.
I just called adult dvd empire and talked to the csr manager about my order and right now I'm really dissapointed. I ordered 10 dvd's from them. most of them are private but there are a few others. About 5 of them are in stock. But they refuse to ship them to me unless I pay for separate shipping charges.
adult dvd empire just doesn't understand customer service. after waiting 3 weeks they still won't ship out the part of my order that's in stock. I will not order from them again.
Crotchrocket - you can't really fault them for simply following the policies on their site. As an alternative to never ordering from them again I recommend searching the forum here for some suggestions on ways to get around this problem. I know a few users have mentioned ways that they deal with this very issue.
Drew, I know there are ways to get around this. I could cancel my order, order 1 title per order and still get free shipping and have those that are in stock shipped to me. But I don't see why I should.
I have ordered from other companies (five star, dvdnow) and they ship at no extra cost to me when they know certain discs are going to be back ordered for a while, I don't even have to call and ask, they've done a great job of taken care of me.
To solve the problem? I really don't see that it's any great hassle for you to do. Personally, I appreciate that "hold items until entire order is ready to ship" means exactly that at Empire. I find it annoying when I choose that option at other places and they go ahead and ship the in-stock items immediately or at some unspecified time in the future.
When DVDEmpire announced the rules for free shipping, I pointed out the flaw in their logic requiring people to select the Ship Complete option, while at the same time having no minimum order quantity.
Since DVD Empire has good inventory control, and you can easily tell if the discs you are planning on ordering are in stock or not, I suggest that people purchase all of the titles that are in stock in a single order, and then place individual orders for every title that is out of stock.
Doing this will allow you to receive all of the discs that you order, as soon as they are available, with no additional shipping cost.
I've ordered a Private DVD 3 weeks ago and it hasn't arrived till now. Yet my credit card had been charged for it. The customer service told me that ask me to wait for it forever.
This is the actual reply: Hello
This shipping is free and the cheapest available so this Will take a few weeks this is very normal. It's only been 17 days so far so it should there soon. If it does not arrive within 4 weeks of shipping that you chose then we can look into a one time replacement at your shipping cost for we will pink up the DVD.
Anybody else encountered this problem using the free shipping services with Adultdvd Empire?
At least you answered the question. This was my opinion and not hearsay. I don't think it's unprofessional to talk about an apparent problem people are having with your company.
I usually order DVDs that are in stock on Sundays. This way Monday morning they are already shipped. With priority mail I used to get them in on Wednesday. With media mail/free shipping, I usually get them on Thursday, Friday at the latest. I've had no problems with DVD Empire, on shipments or returns. That's why they are called "DVD Empire" But then again I believe that they are based in Pennsylvania, and I live in NJ
