| torris Senior Member  Deep within Mila's anus 1827 Posts 1/00 |  Posted - Apr 25 2000 : 6:57PMI was trying to invoke adultdvdnow's price match system with some Private DVDs since DVD Overnight sells them at $19.99. the guys at adultdvdnow didn't want to honor that because they said that Overnight sells used copies. When I pointed out the boilerplate info from Overnight's website that they sell only new copies, the guy from adultdvdnow claimed that this was a lie. That DVDOvernight just shrink wraps rented titles, which explains their low prices. They claimed that even Overnight's distributors admitted as such. Now I have ordered once from Overnight and it certainly appeared to me that I was getting new product. Anyone else know anything further? Someone is lying.... BTW - adultdvdnow, to their credit, honored my price match this time. I plan on emailing DVD Overnight and ask them about this. Torris [Link] |

I believe adultdvdnow may just be too cheap accept the pricematch as they should. I'm pissed, as I was just waiting for DVDO to start selling the Tatiana films, so I could use the pricematch! =========== I'm glad to see Chris from DVDO weigh in. I suspected as this post says that adultdvdnow doesn't like having to price match (less a dollar!) on Private. I think adultdvdnow doesn't see how DVDO can sell them new at that price and make money. Maybe they don't. Maybe it's a loss leader for their rentals. I'd like to hear someone from dvdnow back up these claims! They could be right! ===== 'Now claimed that they had information direct from Overnight's distributors that this is true. And just b/c a title is shrink wrapped that's not an indication of new. You can go to any Kinko's and get something shrink wrapped but I still believe Overnight based on my experience with them. I like adultdvdnow's price match b/c it makes it convenient to order all titles on one order, instead of shopping around and paying shipping for each order. But if they don't want to price match Overnight, that's fine. I'll just buy all Private direct from Overnight. 'now certainly denied that they were unwilling to match the price b/c of it's low cost, but b/c of them selling used product as new. [Link] |

I had no problems whatsoever with them matching the prices, I don't know if it's because I've been ordering from them regularly, or perhaps you just got someone on a bad day or what, but I've never had -any- problem with them price beating stuff for me.. I don't know, as you said, their low price guarantee makes it much easier to just order from them, and I've personally always had good service from them.. ah well, that's my experience scipio [Link] |

Thus, for a limited time, we did not price match DVD Overnight. After discussing the problem further with the owner of DVD Overnight, we come to realize our sources may be unreliable, as DVD Overnight states they ship new DVDs. So, we appologize to DVD Overnight and our customers for this falacy. At this point, we are honoring our Low Price Guarantee policy with DVD Overnight. I hope this puts an end to the confusion.
