Okay... I've tried both SugarDVD and BushDVD and I'm frustrated to say the least.
I live in Seattle and both of those companies have excessive mail times in my opinion. BushDVD used to take up to 5 days from the time it was "shipped" and SugarDVD is now going on to a full week since the mail date.
Has anyone on the west coast of the U.S. had any luck with lower shipping times? I find it hard to believe that there isn't a company that has a turn-around time of less than 3 days to process and 5 days to actually ship a rental.
Any help is appreciated. thanks!

Have you thought of bringing this up in the shopping forum where things like stores, buying, and RENTING are discussed????

I can't offer up much help, but it seems like a "normal" and "reasonable" mail time should be 3 days from southern California to Seattle. I know that Bush consistently sends out the next movie on the same day they get the returns so you shouldn't see delay there.
How long ago since you were at Bush? In summer of 2006 they fired up a "rapid return" feature in which you would flag a rental disc as returned the day you drop it in the mailbox. 2 days later they send out the next movie or movies. That should shave a little time off.
Another suggestion you probably won't think much of is to spend more money on, say, 8 discs out at a time - at that rate you should always have a supply of movies either at your house or on the way.
Anyone else?

My two month membership with SugarDVD, was the absolute worst dvd renting or purchasing experience to date. I've had 10+ movies in only 2 months reach me 10 days after Sugardvd claims that they shipped them. Every fifth or six dvd was either lost or delay for two weeks before they claimed they received them.
I gone more than twenty years without a delayed credit card bill, utility bill, or phone bill being received. With Sugardvd the odds are like being in Las Vegas.

It sounds like all online porn rental sites are just a fucking joke. I'm in in the midwest, and I tried BushDVD, and it was my absolute worst ever experience with any type of business. Their turnaround times are horrible, and so is their customer service. I'll make it a personal duty to discourage anyone from joining that site. I haven't really tried the others so I don't have a benchmark, but I can't imagine anything could be worse.

I eventually just cancelled the trial of Sugar without even receiving the DVD's... the horrible shipping time told me more than I needed to know.
Surprised no one has stepped up and offered something akin to Netflix (netfux.com?) as far as level of service and turnaround time. The argument for potential profit is a no-brainer.

Have you tried XRentDVD? I'm on the East Coast and I've been for the most part pretty happy with the turnaround times.
Some discs I've mailed back to XRent have gotten there in two days. But it's usually 3-5 days.

I'm on the west coast and have had an Xrent plan for about 4 years. I'm largely satisfied with them overall, but their turnaround times can vary wildly.
A typical example is (3-disk plan): I return one disk on a Monday, one on Wednesday, and one on Friday. The following Monday they will acknowledge all three as having been returned.
They do ship the same day (I get them in 2-4 days, usually 3), so my main complaint is the anywhere-from-2-to-7 days it takes for them to acknowledge returns.
When in the past I have queried them about this, they have (of course) blamed the PO, but for a month or two the service seems to improve. Hmm.

Well, I joined up with Adult DVD Explorer and we'll take a look at their turnaround times.
Thanks for tip about Xrent. If ADE falls down, I'll go there next.
