sox to resample to 44100 Hz.
Neither program will help you rip from the DVD.
Don't ask what to use for that; it's not an allowed subject on ADT.

I've purchased a concert video that I wanted to listen to in my car CD player. I used to work as an Audio/Video editor and can manipulate just about any kind of audio file under the sun. I just not have been able to find a program to rip the audio track from a DVD. Obviously, open source or freeware would be best. Any suggestions? I know that you guys have some big brains out there!
