|  Posted - Jan 19 2001 : 9:06AMHi, sorry if the headline sounds a bit dramatic, but I think it's quite important : today I got a mail containing the DVDadvantage newsletter like I have already received lots of.
This time it was different though. The mail was 364 kb and displayed hundreds and hundreds of customer email-addresses in the header. Now everybody who subscribed to the newsletter knows all the other subscribers' addresses which is quite a horrible thing concerning data security. I'm sure some of you also received this mail. For example I found out that Jenna_Chasey_Stacy_Fan (I guess that was his name) is a subscriber of that newsletter.
OK. He is using a synonyme and a yahoo-address, but there are certainly lots of people using their email-address at work and their real name. Don't really know what I want to say with this post. I guess wanted to say that I'm angry about that and that I hope better care is taken in the future about these things.  [Link] |

spesedy:i received the newsletter and it didn't reveal the email addresses - so not everyone in the database got them. i know it sucks, but i have to admit that the same thing happened to me when i was at divadee. it's one of the worst feelings to be responsible for something like that. we didn't make the same mistake twice. i know the guys at advantage really well and i don't think they'll make the same mistake twice either. they're always jumping thru hoops for their customers. that wasn't blind copied and we inadvertently disclosed
a partial list of our customers. There is no words to describe

I was one of the ones who received an e-mail with the list of names on it. So I tried placing an order and entered EMAIL in the reference code box. However, this is what was listed in the cost totaling information:
Discount: 2 FREE ZOMM DVD'S -$0.01
It showed that the total cost with S&H was only reduced by a penny. No other indication that the free DVD would indeed be included in the shipment. How exactly is this all working? I don't want to complete the order until I know for sure that everything will be as promised.Just as a note, I even tried placing the title (Sophomore Sex) into the cart to see if it would be listed as FREE, or $0.00, but that did not occur, and the amount of that DVD was included in the total cost with the same one penny discount.

Hi OrgazmoI don't believe that you put the title in the cart. I think you just have to enter EMAIL in the reference code box and you will get the free DVD. I will send your question to Michael. [Link] |
