Used them for a very long time.

Placed an order in November, items sent in Janurary (I needed them for Christmas) waited and they didnt turn up, so waited untill their allocation time was up. so i went to their website and went through the process of claiming back new items.refund. nothing.

since then i have sent around 6 emails via their site AND not through their site, none of them have been replied to.

i am about $70 down from my account. what can i do?

If I get it well, the items of your November order were delivered late and then the items of a further order/or remaining items of the November order did not get through to you.

I checked the website and they only give an email address, but if you have access to a page where you can fill in a claim online I would suggest doing that first.

If you don't get a response, gather your bill and copies of your emails and send them to your credit card company explaining the problem. They should make a refund while investigating your complaint.

And of course, if it happens that they did on purpose not reply to your emails, don't buy from them anymore.

good luck!

I'm afraid DVDSOON ,or perhaps DVDNEVER as they should be renamed, have become notorious for taking orders, charging credit cards then not sending goods and ignoring emails.

I have had an outstanding order with one of their aliases, DVDIMPORT , since April. The credit card company are apparently my only recourse.

Don't touch with a barge pole!

For those that may be confused by hearing what they thought was the Region 1 DVD supplier of choice being slated like this I had better explain.

For years I and many others used them without problems, they were highly reliable. Then last year their low prices and free world wide delivery policy caught up with them and they went out of business leaving many with no DVDs and fighting for refunds. Then they were bought by DVDIMPORT and the business practices described in the above posts have apparently become the norm. Catching out a great number of people like myself who hadn't kept abreast of developments.

At least this is my understanding apologies if it's not totally correct.

These were one of my favourite online DVD retailers. Then when they crashed last year, I still had some stuff on order with them. They "issued" me with credit, but after reading all the hoopla, I gave up. However, when DVD Import acquired them and a friend of mine tested them with a few small orders (and got the stuff) I thought I'd give them another shot. Especially as their prices were REALLY GOOD!! I should have known better.

It appears that they have supposedly "shipped" my order -- after I sent them a stern e-mail -- but after reading on other boards, it appears as if this is a ruse by them. They supposedly shipped it more than two weeks ago, but nothing! It seems that anyone who got a shipping confirmation e-mail or checked their account at Soon AND whose order has a tracking number starting with PP317 is shit out of luck. It seems that these are "phantom" tracking numbers as Canada Post have never heard of such shipment numbers and never issued any such. It seems that Soon did this previously when they supposedly shipped alot of stuff to people on April 12th, but nobody ever got anything. They seem to be just taking people's money and shipping nothing. That is pure FRAUD, but it seems that the authorities in Canada don't seem to want to know about anything to do with this! Pricks!

If nothing arrives within the next week, I'm contacting my credit card company and starting a chargeback procedure. Incidentally, a friend of mine made a small test order with DVD Import at around the same time, 4 titles. One was shipped immediately and arrived in 2 days to Ireland. Two more were shipped after my "supposed" shipment and he's already got them and one title is still outstanding. Import is not perfect and I don't think he'll be using them again, but at least he's had more luck. If anyone is interested from the International community (and if the admin here don't mind my mentioning it) you can find more on this from some of the threads at the Suppliers section at http://www.thedvdforums.com/ but here are more boards with discussions concerning this topic.

Hope this clears up a little of some of the members' here's confusion. At least a bit.....

Latest update - their site has been down for some time. Think they've probably reached the end of the line finally.

As you are UK your credit card covers you, regardless what type of card it is.

US and international laws differ, but in the UK anything you buy with a Credit Card has to be of a merchantable standard or they (the CC company) HAVE to refund you.

As you have recieved nothing at all you are more than covered, so I suggest your forget about the order, stop wasting your time and demand a refund from your CC company.

They may try and fob you off, don't listen to it. Send off all the relevant info to the CC company and you will get a refund - good luck!
