For question on DVD-R

They're the DVD you buy tu burn other format is DVD+R. That means that DVD as an authorized burnt one not a printed one

About the difference between them well in a printed DVD , starting from centre to edge there are some holes in DVD surface which create a shadow when laser light pass on them so the sequencies of light and shadow reproduce the binary 0101 sequencies a computer can process .
all the stuff needed to do so is expensive and the power of the light is too much dangerous to be used at home.

Your burner don't create a hole but a little burnt zone which also create a shadow when the light of laser player pass on . So this work like the first one but can lose some of those parts because of many reasons too long to describe here .

SO a Printed DVD is almost Eternal if you take care of while a burnt one may work for 4 or 5 years depending on quality.

If someone wants to collect a DVD it is better to buy a printed one

They are the same as dvd's (which hold 9.4GB) except they are usually single layer (hold 4.7GB). This is fine unless the movie is longer than 2 hours. If it is the movie will have to be compressed resulting in a loss of picture quality.
The longer the film the more compression needed.
In my opinion you only start to notice when the film is over 2hrs 30 mins.

BTW, the "eternity" of a printed DVD won't be any longer than probably 25 years. ;-)

TM:RIP is a burned copy of the original movie. The guy shipped me the original boxcover but the cd is jsut a copy :( and it won't play in my dvd-rom

Stroking to the oldies... played the entire movie once but now its not working and it won't play anymore. I saw several scratches on the back of the disc :(

Both movies were purchased in www.adultcdmovies.com and I'm calling them right away because I can not tolerate incompetence.

Well, that's how Extreme was (is?) releasing its old catalog stuff. Any complaints about this disc should be directed toward Extreme, not Adult CD Movies.

Yes, Rest In Peace played well on my dvd player but my DVD-ROM can't even read it :( I just bought this optical drive last year, is it time for me to upgrade?????

I don't know the real reason, but if you buy an Extreme catalog title that was produced in the last year or two, this is the type of disc that you will get. This has been mentioned by a lot of people her in many different threads.
