On top of that, when I tried my main email account-it bounced me with a 404 error message and it would only work with my secondary account. Did anyone else have problems? I'd prefer y'all just take the sign-on names and automatically enter us once we sign into the chat. I don't have clue one regarding the technical feasibility of doing so though... [Link] |

Hopefully the URL will be shorter next time so that clicking will work properly. Using sign-on names isn't really feasible, since it's more difficult to identify who someone really is on IRC. While a form does present the challenge of screening out duplicate entries, it reduces the problem of ten different people saying "hey, I was (nickname) -- so I won!" Also, people drift in and out of the chats, so it's a lot of work to keep track of who was there and whether they qualify for the contest. Personally, I like the idea of an entry form, especially since you know whether your entry was accepted (via a confirmation e-mail). If you had a specific problem other than the URL problem I mentioned above, I'm sure Drew Black would be very interested in hearing about it so he can troubleshoot the problem.
