I had heard that quite a few porn DVD's are now including easter eggs. Does anyone know of any that are worthwhile. Appasionata was supposed to have a quite a few, but after hours of searching, I simply cannot find any. Has anyone else had any success?

There´s a list somewhere in this forum, but the Search feature kept crashing my browser (I blame my browser). Maybe some moderator can help you.

But Wicked and Adam & Eve/Ultimate´s titles are usually the ones with Easter Eggs.

I would LOVE to see some easter eggs on EVIL ANGEL titles, things like clips of Tricia or John talking about some subject, hidden scenes, bloopers, stuff like that.

The only easter egg on appassionata is on disc 2 , from the top button press left button and it will light up the bug with a fried egg high lite, it will give you access to the original script by Asia un-edited.It is the only egg!!!
The reason there isnt more ,is due to the fact easter eggs are secret and ,therefore arent on the box as a selling point.

John and I have talked several times about whether or not to do easter eggs.
The biggest down side for us is that our movies are already SO long that we have to really budget what else we put on our discs. And if the majority of people aren't even going to get to see it, we feel like we'd be cheating them by making the video quality of the movie lower.
If our movies were shorter and we had more free space on our discs, that would be a different story, as I love searching for eggs when I have time (unfortunately I rent a lot of mainstream DVDs and don't always have the time to look around for eggs.)
We have definite plans of putting at least one on two different DVDs during 2002, because we've already been budgeting the space for those two DVDs.

I personally don't like looking around for "bonuses" or easter eggs. I like extras in menu form.

Plus, if it meant sacrificing quality over a few surprises, then I say it's not worth it.

I'm probably in the minority, but I agree with BIGmike.

Give me quality video first and forego the extras. But what extras there are, make them easily available.

I think all the stuff about pressing nine buttons in the correct order and direction, standing on your head and picking your right ear with you left index toe in order too find an extra scene or whatever is just plain stupid. And when I find that I need to go through such shenanigans in order to see something of value that I have already paid for, I feel cheated. And if it was just plain silly and of no value, then I still feel cheated because someone wasted my money (in added costs) to create such a waste of time.

BTW, I feel the same way about "bonus angles." I have yet to see anyone produce a DVD in which this feature was used intelligently. Either the material should be part of the scene or it belongs on the cutting room floor or it belongs on an out-takes or bloopers menu. Hiding an unrelated scene (which seems to be the most common use of this feature) as an extra angle is stupid and exceptionally inconvenient.

I am not saying that these things cannot be an asset to a DVD. I am saying that what I've seen produced thus far just leaves me feeling I've wasted my time and money (and very prone not to waste either on the same sources of such trivia again).

Just my party pooper opinion,

Well, if it´s a, say, 30-second hidden video message or an audio message for answering machines, or even a mini-photo gallery, that wouldn´t take much space.

eyeman - there are a bunch of threads on easter eggs (just search the first forum for easter egg) here are some of them:

Wicked's XXX Training
1. The special efx reel: go right from the special features button on the Main Menu and click enter
2. Interview with serenity (alternate): on the special features menu there is a button for interview with Serenity, go left from that button and click Enter to go to the alternate one.
3. Box cover shoot: on the chapter 1 page, go left from the main menu button and click enter.

Spellbound - In the "Biography" selection screen in the "Special Features" - Alexa's Bio - select right to highlight bee for Alexa's interview outtakes.

Working Girl - In the "Special Features" window, scroll up to highlight Working Girl for a Temptress Interview.

Pure - In the "Special Features" window, scroll down to photo gallery. Select right to highlight flower petal for a Jenna Jameson photo gallery.

Kissing Game - In the "Special Features" window, select up to highlight Special features to see an interview with Missy.

M caught in the act - In the "Special Features" window, push left from "All access the making of M" for a Serenity photo gallery.

------------------------------------
Ive logged 2 "easter eggs" little freebies hidden in a couple of recent porno dvds from private. check the movie Erica, in the scene selection press to the left and the logo lights up, press play and your away!!!
the other I got from a second hand source I haven't seen it but it's worth a try is in "Friends in sex" where in the scene selection you press up and when the words "extra
scene" light up again you just gotta hit play.
-----------------------------------

I'm not much into searching for easter eggs, however I think they can be used to throw in moments of comedy. It would be great to stumble across the director saying what he/she really thinks about one of the cast members ;) I wouldn't put any really valuable extras as easter eggs.

I am into Easter Eggs, but I also don’t like spending a whole lot of time looking for them. The gentlemen over at http://www.dvdeastereggs.com/easter_eggs.php are starting a site adultdvdeggs.com and will list all of them from every company that is doing them. I have been working with him to get it off the ground. I put Eggs on my disc because they are fun and I personally like them. Check out the special effects reel on XXX Training and tell me that’s not funny, but I would never list it as a feature. I wanted it to be real time because it flowed nice, and didn’t drag. I didn’t want to cut it up and put it in the BTS feature, and just leave it at that. It doesn’t take any space to do a photo gallery and you can fit about 220 minutes of footage on a DVD-9 and keep a quality picture .So unless you are doing almost 4 hours of footage, or a DVD-5 there should be plenty of room on a DVD to put a few eggs.

Hey Gang, thanks for all the great tips. I happen to agree with BIGmike, and really don't care for easter eggs. But If there on a disk, I feel like I'm missing something that I paid for if I can't find them.

I usually watch on the ol' PC and PowerDVDs easy listing of titles and chapters tends to make mince meat out of easter egg hunts. :-)

Evil Angel's movies alone total 120-140 minutes. Plus our fetish menu at 30-60 minutes. And usually 20-50 minutes of extra footage. That blows the 220 minutes right there. As for photo galleries, we don't do huge photo shoots, so we put all of the good pictures right into our main photo gallery. We also don't do special effects, so there goes that option...

Eggs can be fun, but Evil Angel is still not going to do them on a regular basis.
That's cool for the companies that do, though.

Tricia, why don´t you start with little easter eggs like the ones from MALLRATS and BRING IT ON? Check ´em out to see what I´m talking about. They´re tiny eggs, but amusing.

I've seen both of those mainstream DVDs, and didn't know EITHER of those had eggs on them.

So that goes along with what bigmike and eyeman said. I feel cheated, because I rented those DVDs, have NO intention of renting them again, and now I know that I missed something that was there all along.

I just don't have the time to go searching for eggs, and I also don't have the time to look on various sites to try to find footage of stuff that could have been listed as Little Extras in a menu.

As long as Evil Angel keeps doing extra footage, I wouldn't bother me if easter eggs were left out. I love that extra footage, its great!

Why dont we all just put a lead weight in to all the DVD boxes too!!!Neat!!
Ok we all know eggs are easy to author and can take up minmal space, but no one is goning to buy a dvd cause of a easter egg and there isnt a AVN catagory for best easter eggs. I dont put eggs ,even when I make a 2 disc DVD-9.

Ok whats more Intersting to a coustomer "Hot extra scene" or "hidden easter egg"

Easter eggs are like playing a record backwards to find something ,hidden .Few do it and If you got good stuff on it you dont need a egg.

I'll put my vote in for no "easter eggs". If you have extras, please put them on the menu. Some of these mainstream "eggs" have so many keystrokes I feel like I'm playing Mortal Combat or some other fighting game instead of enjoying a DVD.

I would guess most people are on "rental time" anyways and would likely miss them.
