Would like to, but why isn't
it open to fans like the AVN
Expo in Vegas? Why can't there just be a charge if you're
a fan rather than a retailer?
Wouldn't they make more money,
draw bigger crowds, get more stars, and just benefit everyone in general? I wanna
go but don't want to be turned away at the door. Why can't
we go?

In theory, this is true. However, it is not difficult to get in. If you order your admission pass in advance, you really just have to make up a company name at your own home address (at least this used to be the case). If you buy your pass on-site, you just need to have some kind of a business card for a business has anything to do with video. It doesn't need to have your name on it. A few years ago, I went using a generic business card from my local adult video store. Now, granted, I went with someone who DID actually work at that store and the owner of the store was already there with a pre-purchased pass and would have vouched for us is necessary, but it wasn't necessary. We both got in with the same generic business card with just the store info (actual name or title info).

As far as Den's question is concerned, I'm considering going to the ECVS for a day. A part of my decision may be based on the response to this thread.

Not going this year. Too much money and time off required at the moment. Though they sent me an application (not sure why).

I am not going, but John will most likely be there for a day.
Since Evil Angel doesn't have a booth, he would just be doing business with other companies.

I won't be there either, even though I live in New Jerzee.

Sorry to hear that Tricia will not be attending and that
Evil Angel won't have a booth.

I wonder if the trip is worth it?

I go to see the gals and Tricia is one of my favorites!

Unlike CES, Very few studios actually have their own booths at the ECVS. Since this show is more geared for store owners, the major distributors all have large booths (if you can really call them booths, they are so big). The distributors then have wither contract girls or girls who have recently appeared in movies of the different studios signing for them. Very often, the people signing will move from booth to booth a couple times a day.

I'm also disappointed that Tricia won't be going. Her attendance alone probably would have dictated my attending for a day this year.

Den, et al.

I haven't had a chance to announce this in RAME yet, but the usual get together is happening on Tuesday night at the Showboat at around 7:30. Ask the front desk for Luc Wylder's room and they'll hook you up. They can't give us the room number ahead of time, so this is the best we can do under the circumstances...

It's not its purpose. The purpose of the show is for store owners to do business with the distributors; not a fan meet-and-greet.

The convention center is pretty tight as it is so to stuff it fuller with folks doesn't help the store owners or the distributors...

However, as others have said, it's pretty trivial to get in the door.
