The first porn convention that I attended on the East Coast was in 1994 at (you guessed it!) the Trump Taj Mahal! This was where the ECVS (East Coast Video Show) started and, I believe, that 1994 was one of the first years for the show! This Exxxotica event should prove interesting...if I remember correctly, we (the porn industry) were kicked out of the Taj after a year or two there for being...too wild! I recall a big, fancy private industry party where the Casino Gestapo kept an eagle eye out for any flashing - and closed down the party the first time Dr X sweet-talked some young honey into a topless pic off in the corner. The ECVS then moved to the OLD Atlantic City Convention Center (on the boardwalk) and then, a few years later, to the NEW Atlantic City Convention Center where it stayed until the last year of the ECVS in Atlantic City in 2002. Man, we had a BLAST there during those years! And the Anna Malle afterparties...sigh. Which leads me to wonder...whatever happened to that other adult convention: the VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association) that we used to go to?
