I don't know if I did or didn't ever see another movie by Edwin Durell, but I remember this one pretty vividly. No, I actually only remember one scene vividly. By the time Melissa Melendez finished rolling her stockings down her legs, she had become my favorite porn star. The scene was a classic after-school teacher fantasy, and she was pretty much beautiful beyond what I could imagine back then in the '80s. The extended strip and tease sequence was unforgettable. Unfortunately, I also remember that the actual sex in the scene was brief and poorly shot. Very anticlimactic, frankly. And the rest of the movie fades from memory. Well, I just ordered it anyway in a typical late-night semi-drunken tossing away of hard-earned cash for no good reason. I guess I just wondered if anyone else remembers this one. And who was Edwin Durell, anyway? The movie is listed just as "Dream Girls" now, but I remember it being conspicuously titled "Edwin Durell's Dream Girls". [Link] |

I bought it on VHS when it was new, mostly to see Melissa and another personal favorite, Paula Harlow (who is in the group scene with Tom Byron, Taija Rae, and Alexis Greco). Melissa and her sister sure were pretty, but this is one of the few scenes I saw Melissa in where she seemed into the scene and the sex. [Link] |

Not so good, but I knew it wasn't going to look like Island Fever 3. The Melissa Melendez scene is just as I remembered, and it remains pretty timeless. The rest of the movie, however, is so, so '80s. The hair, the clothes, the colors ... wow. Candie Evens in her workout outfit looks like a modern parody of what the '80s were. Excellent.
