I wonder what people think the effect of this would be on the industry in California, if such a rule were passed and enforced? I think a lot of consumers just won't buy adult dvds if condoms are involved. Would much of the industry move to out of state productions for survival? [Link] |

It is the same reason that the government is attempting to make smoking illegal or taxing it out of existence -- to pacify the Moral Minority! They don't care that it will cost the state/country trillions of dollars in tax revenue and thousands of jobs. At least for porn there are several other states that will have us such as Florida. Heck, New Hampshire even has laws specifically stating that porn is legal. However, since there is already a business presence in Florida I think Miami will become the next Chatsworth once the condom-only laws are passed. In the case of cigarettes, we are just fucked because that one is federal! Anyone want a slightly-used Armory on Mission Street in SF? Peter will have to sell his baby once condom-only takes effect. I'm not talking about Aids as much as all the other STD's. I don't like to read that one of my favorite pornstar has chlamydia, syphilis, herpes, gonorrhea, vaginal/anal warts and so on. None of these are fun to get and less for those that don't have a cure. It's bad from a business stand point because it takes one or more star out of the biz for a period of time and in some cases forever. I agree that if there is a law passed that forces studio to use condoms then many will move out of State. That's also why I have hard time believing that such a law will pass. If porn is such a lucrative industry then it stands that California being the Capital of porn. It must take in millions upon millions of dollar in taxes each year from the porn industry. Government talk about morales but they prefer making money. [Link] |
