Contests are fun but I don't think all members here would be as insightful as others. The same holds true for voting-majority rules tends to be a popularity contest rather than picking someone best qualified.

If you are going to consider nominations, I'd strongly suggest Astro, Yoga, Smartblonde, Lee, or Endo (with plenty of others worthy too) as each of them has displayed the ability to articulate what they, and others, like as well as come up with some great ideas. Just a few thoughts...

DVD is taking over the world and I think the more 'extras'
the better. Behind the Scenes, director interview or better
yet directory comments, extra scenes, cast bio's and
less photo galleries.

Example:Lady Fellatio #2

Have a Mason interview, have an audio track where
Mason talks about the making of the scene, have a
cast ID with list of other Elegant Angel movies
she has done.

And, have the 2 'sensational' last scenes only
available on DVD. (In future releases, of course).

I think it is great that you are requesting inputs.

On a sidebar, Mason is great. She has her point of
view and is not afraid to express it.

But it's great to see a studio asking what the fans want, providing them with news, and taking everything seriously.

Step 1: Draw candidates only from ADT'ers who have written a minimum of "x-number" of DVD reviews ("x-number" could be 10, 15, 20 or whatever is decided).

Step 2: Start a new thread explaining the Elegant Angel Tour and the selection process. In that same thread, canvass all ADT'ers to pick the reviewers who they feel are the most knowledgeable, insightful, creative, objective, and articulate.

Step 3: Determine the 10 reviewers who capture the most recommendations.

Step 4: Of these 10, determine which ones are open to visiting Elegant Angel.

Step 5: Of the reviewers open to visiting Elegant Angel, write the name of each reviewer on a separate piece of paper and drop the names into a hat (or something else suitable).

Step 6: Have a trustworthy person randomly pick two names from the hat. Those two reviewers would take the Elegant Angel Tour.

Again, none of the above is written in stone. Perhaps some variation of the above might work. Just a thought.

I do believe that Cast bios are great; especially if you have an interview with each chick introducing themselves. I have seen this on different titles and it works great and is still good for strokers.

Just for the record, I personally love the twisted photos stuff on elegant angel, and also, please keep Patrick Collins behind the camera as much as possible!

But my main complaints with elegant that keeps them from being the top studio they once were is the camera work and talent (male and female.) Add all the special features you want, but its the actual sex that makes the product shine. 5 different audio tracks, footage of technicians eating donuts and sweating it out in a editing bay, subtitles in hungarian... this stuff is secondary to the main course. If you don't enjoy the steak, who cares about the salad.

I think this is just a fabulous and unprecedented idea. I think as far as selection goes that it has to ultimately be up to you. However, I think Pontus (with his exceptional problem solving talents--as always) has suggested a very good way to allow you to narrow your selection criteria.

Although I haven't written many reviews, I'd love to be one of those that went. I do think, however, that there are many qualified candidates, and I would certainly understand that in the interest of narrowing the field that a cut off point for number of reviews is established. In any case, whoever goes should be articulate should have proven that they can not only talk porn, but also analyze porn from a number of different perspectives in terms of both production and audience. I think Pontus has a great idea, but I think the ultimate decision should be yours.

Now! I would like to add that Elegant Angel web page sucks. Please change it so that it's easier to view upcomming release DVDs. And allow visior to click on the box cover to view the back and the front in a large picture format and maybe even a few snapshots from the movie.
Picture quality is number one when it comes to movies on DVD, but that's not to say the sex comes second. Camera angle is very important and the sex has to be real fucking hot and nasty and different sometimes. I like a little extra sex and some behind the sceens, and plenty of previews. I am really to intresting in director and stars comment at all. And every now and then your studio could offer two movie for the price of one on the same disc. DVD has plenty of storage ability and two sides so use it instead of putting photo galleries, who cares? Overall just give us real hot sex on DVD and we'll pay to watch it. Also, regarding extras. I agree with P-Knuckle & qrop. Dvd has 2 huge advantages over vhs-clarity of video & capacity of the disc. The video clarity is most important to me, & that's why I no longer do vhs.
I'd like to see the extra capacity used to give us more sex footage: planned extra scenes (as Den suggested), out-takes, short scenes that did not make the cut, anything (including added interviews).

I would definitely express my interest in giving input! I have reviewed tons of reviews for ADT from different companies and different genres. I would have the experience of what the pornsumer wants in extras.

I appreciate Mike's compliments but due to my puritanical employer, I'll take a raincheck. Mr. Collins can always count on my input and has my email address if he needs an unbiased opinion though. I think MLyons would be a good choice to add to my last nominations-I just read a few of his reviews. I also think having a male and a female reviewer would give them a more varied set of opinions and stated so in private.

Thanks for the support, but I am sure that there are others who have written more reviews and are more deserving. I have reviewed 15 or so videos, but they are for RAME. As others mentioned, I have reviewed only 2 DVDs in ADT but there are 2 to 3 more on my list, when the DVDs come out.

OK on to the members review board . . . my idea from the beginning was to get input from the respected members from the ADT community. Your responses have helped me narrow that list to two people, MLyons and HoustonDon. Astroknight emailed me, but due to time constraints he wouldn't be able to make it (though we may get to visit before or after the AEE show in January).

My suggestion would be that the group compile a list of concerns, potential areas of improvement, and of course what we are doing right.

As for DP's, anals, and intense sex, I agree. I love this stuff . . . as long as the performers love it too. I'd like to hear from all of you who have watched the new Buttwoman release. Though the DVD was not up to the standards we now have attained through our changes in authoring and replicating, I think the sex is pretty intense. All of Mason's work is intense and controversial; William H. a new Elegant Angel director has a very perverse mind and he’s an AMAZING cameraman. He has just finished the newest edition of Heavy Handfulls. I look forward to seeing your take on his style. If you want to see something sooner, check out the newest edition of Internally Yours (co-directed with Mason) of which a guy who has been reviewing movies for over 25 years said, "Mason and William H. are reinventing the wheel . . . one of the best gonzo movies of the year . . . any year!" Parker Schurman is currently working on an S&M-fetish themed show called Slave Dolls. In addition to all of this, Paulo Banana has just finished the next Sugarwalls, and will be giving the Cumback Pussy series the revitalization and consistency it needs. Toni Ribas is shooting the next Hardcore Innocence and I have TWO new directors vying for the Filthy First Timers slot . . . and they're both very good. And the girls really are first timers! And finally, even I will attempt to shoot at the end of November, because I love shooting, unfortunately sometimes running this place gets in the way. By the way what do you think of an entire movie that focuses on kissing? Of course I'll throw a little hardcore in too ;). Kissing drives me crazy and I think there's way too little of it in porn.

More good news . . . all of our new DVD releases will be packaged in a full color BOX. As far as I know, no one in the industry has this . . . yet! So, we’re trying. And with input from people like you, and the dedication of the Elegant Angel directors, photographers, and staff I am more confident in the future of Elegant Angel than I’ve ever been.

It’s been called to my attention that HoustonDon can’t make it, and it’s important for a lot of reasons that we have two perspectives. Some of the names mentioned have been YogaGirl, Kobiata, and Speelie. Are any of these what you consider to represent the raincoater viewpoint? Because, as I stated prior, the most important thing to a pornography product is that it entices the senses and arouses the viewer and makes them happy. The whistles and bells do not help a poor product. Look at a title like Ass Collector (evil angel.) Its a great movie without the special features; they are a nice addition and make it a even more well-rounded product.

Lets metaphorically look at it like buying a car; if its a great car, then extras make it even better. Like a Lamborghini with a high end stereo. But if the car itself is undrivable or not made with the 'driver' in mind, a extra sunroof or cupholder does not make it a better machine. It doesn't make the actual car better, it only hides its faults for the intial purchase.

Porn is much the same; many dvds offer lots of features but the final product is still not that great. I won't say any names but I have seen my share of dvds with poor sex quality but high end features. Elegant angel needs to step up the action and sexual heat; the extras don't have to be all that extravagant...

In response to P-Knuckle, I don't mean to speak out of turn, but the very fact that Patrick is inviting us up to see his facilities to give him some feedback indicates to me that he's interested in whatever we have to say, whether it be about DVD extras, boxcovers or the content itself. As for me, I'm just going to talk to them, and react to what they ask or put in front of me. Patrick will listen or he won't, but I don't expect he's going to all this trouble bringing people out there just to talk exclusively about extra features.

P-knuckle, you've made your point about the feature itself being the most important aspect several times, and I certainly agree with that. Do you have any constructive suggestions about what you feel is lacking in Elegant Angel's (or any studio's) content? What would you like to see? I imagine that it's these kinds of things that Patrick is interested in hearing, both from the people in this thread, and the people that go out to see him. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get that sense. Patrick seems to be genuinely interested in what we think, and just because he may not post a lot doesn't mean he isn't paying attention.

This is a great opportunity for all of us. The more ideas and thoughts we share here, the more representative I and whoever else goes can be of all of ADT. I have my own thoughts, of course, but I'll certainly try to speak for all of you as well. Any lurkers out there who'd like to have their voice heard?
