Images are being blocked in my email. To see images I have to click "blocked images" on the tool bar. I have to do this for each email. I am not being told what is blocking images. How do I get my images back?

Are you using Outlook Express? If so it's part of the new Microsoft security features. I'm not sure how to turn it off I haven't looked that far into it yet. It is a pain though.

Yes, it is Outlook Express. I can find nothing on how to adjust or turn it off.

Tools menu -> Options -> Security Tab

Uncheck the "Block images and other external content in HTML email."

You should be aware that automatically downloading images is considered a major security compromise.

Essentially, you are announcing "this Internet address is valid and alive". Spammers send these sort of e-mails hoping people like you will have automatic image loading turned on. It tells them, "yes, the e-mail address you have on file is accurate; please spam me."

That's why Microsoft buries the option in the new software in a bunch of menus. Basically, it's the Internet equivalent of putting a sign on your back that says, "Kick me."

You might look to see if Outlook Express offers site by site whitelisting (basically putting certain sites into the "safe" category).

I just want to be certain that you (and others) are aware of this. Good luck.
