I keep forgetting to click on "add subscription" or whatever its called
anyway, when i do add it, do ui need to click on "update" on that screen? becuase im still getting no emails
hopefully when somebody replies to this thread, it will work, so please reply for testing purposes

No, you don't need to click update. If you click the "subscribe to topic" link while you're logged in to your account the thread subscription will automatically be added. You can view your topic subscriptions on this page

Are the topics showing as subscribed in your profile? Have you checked your spam folder?

i dont have a spam folder on this address, it might be stopping on the server?

I see the emails being added to the queue to send to the address associated with your user profile. Notification emails are sent every 10 minutes so there may be a lag between the last post being made and the notification email going out to you. Also, you won't receive a notification for posts you make only those from other people.

Why can't we have email notifications on topics we start, seems silly, but u want o keep an eye on your own topics MORE than other peoples ?

I was sure i canged my email address when I changed my ISP a few months ago!
changed now, so hope it works now lol

You can and it does send them for topics you start. It doesn't send them when you post. Say you start a topic, I reply, and then you reply. You should get a notification for my reply but not for your reply. You don't get notification emails when you make posts. It is assumed that you realize that you have posted and don't need to be notified of that fact.
Having an accurate email address certainly does help.
