A Los Angeles porn star has filed a defamation lawsuit against two industry rivals who claimed she was filmed engaging in sex acts with a dog.
Emily Willis, alleges in her suit filed against Gianna Dior and Adria Rae that the women tanked her future career prospects by falsely accusing her of taking part in the bestiality video on social media, My News LA reported.
"There was considerable rumor, speculation and innuendo about the identities of the performers within the industry, including on social media," says Willis' suit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday. "It was a scandal, and a highly salient one, with obvious potential to destroy careers."
Dior, and Rae, allegedly both tweeted that Willis was one of the women featured in the video making the rounds online.
The suit alleged that the women "had much to gain" by drawing Willis into the scandal.
Willis - who won female performer of the year in January at the Adult Video News Awards, which is considered the "Oscars of porn" - has about 723,000 Twitter followers, while Dior and Rae have about 414,000 and 168,000 followers, respectively, according to the suit.
"Participants in the adult entertainment industry are heavy users of Twitter, which they use to communicate among themselves and with the general public," the suit says.
Willis claimed that after the pair tweeted the false accusation, she received calls from several producers and others within the industry asking her about it.
"Beyond the obvious economic harm, this was extremely embarrassing and distressing," the suit said. "But worse, to untold others in the industry and in the consumer base, [Willis] may never have a chance to fully clear her name."
Willis is seeking more than $5 million in compensatory damages, plus punitive damages.
Dior and Rae couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
I haven't seen the video nor do i ever plan or want to but i don't believe she's done it. She's been on the rise for years now and won a AVN so why risk all that on something like this? Granted she could have been off her face on something and was led into doing it but again i just don't buy it. Finally if she did do it she wouldn't want to draw too much attention to it and instead would have denied it on Twitter and left it at that, bringing a lawsuit into it means its now massive news what everyone who follows porn news will now know.
Also while i like Gianna and feel for her with what she's been though i wouldn't be shocked if she's just being bitchy and trying to cause trouble here.
I doubt if she's done it and there certainly isn't a video if she's willing to go to court. It would be a pretty easy defense if Adria or Gianna's lawyers presented the video.
Twitter has been great for bringing to light predatory behaviour in the industry but pornstars should leave their drama and feuds off Twitter. Hopefully this is a lesson to all.
